Title: Chris Simms... How do yas think he does... Post by StegRock on Oct 7th, 2004, 6:58pm ...both out of the shoot this week in New Orleans AND in the long-run? Intelligent, inquiring minds want to know (how "the Gridiron" weighs in on this ;) )? |

Title: Re: Chris Simms... How do yas think he does... Post by Chumpzilla on Oct 7th, 2004, 8:26pm This is a tough one. I watched him play in college and I wasn't impressed. The kid was talented and had guts but I couldn't "picture" him as being successful in the NFL. He lived up (or down) to my expectations until the pre-season this year. I realize the overall "speed" is slower in the pre-season but this kid played very well. In fact, I was a bit surprised that he didn't win this job in week #1. With all of that being said, I think he will be ready this week and I predict 250 yards with 2 TD's. I also think he keeps the job for the remainder of the year. Just a gut feel. ;D |

Title: Re: Chris Simms... How do yas think he does... Post by captainpurple on Oct 8th, 2004, 12:19pm Different QB, but same supporting staff. O-Line that allows sacks, WRs that can't get open downfield, no running game. I don't see Simms being any more successful than BJ in the long run. For this week, I'd say there are at least 3-4 better bye week fill-ins, and probably 1-2 each week based on matchups. I wouldn't acquire him. |

Title: Re: Chris Simms... How do yas think he does... Post by Philly on Oct 8th, 2004, 12:52pm Interestingly, Gruden is a proponent of the WCO, yet Simms is anything but a prototypical WCO QB. I think in the right system he could have (limited) success in the NFL. Unless Gruden changes his offensive philosophy, then I think Simms will be doomed to mediocrity. |
