Title: WHO TO START
Post by GOLF_FREAK on Oct 8th, 2004, 12:06pm
What is up with Santana Moss?  Should I start him or R Curry from the Raiders?

Give Curry a shot.  He appears to be a consistent target in Oakland.  Indiananpolis' passing defense leaves much to be desired.  Also, Moss has been disappointing and he is going agains the Bills.  Go with Curry.

I think the Jets have been so successful running the ball, that both Moss and McCareins have seen their stats suffer as a result.  I think this might actually be a good week to start Moss.  Buffalo has a good run defense, so it may force Pennington to go to the air a bit.

I'm still not sold on Curry.  One week it's Porter, then Whitted steals the big TD... it's hard to tell with this team who will get the catches.

Dude, don't let the "what have you done for me lately" mindset (read, fallacy) delude you.  Moss will get his and you don't want to have him on your bench when he does.  As for Curry,... well, if you want to stick with fallacies, make sure you consider them all and think "stood the test of time" or "flavor of the month".  ...  Stick it out with the guy you drafted or protected; don't go goin' yet with the guy you just happen to pick up off the waiver wire or out of free-agency (however your league terms it).

I also agree with Steg, sometimes you can lucky with inconsistent fluky pickup players, but it is usually best to stick with your proven players.

Thanks for the comments fellas.  Hopefully with the comments also made by Penninton this week he will pick it up and throw more often.  Curtis Martin is bound to get shut down soon and Moss will be waiting for the ball as far as I am concerned.

I would hang with Moss.  I am shocked :o how quickly people have given up on Moss and McCareins.  This "fear" has allowed me to grab Moss extremely cheap in several leagues.
