Title: WDIS Coles or Givens
Post by lumber2121 on Oct 9th, 2004, 10:05am
My gut tells me to start Coles.  I think is going to start putting up some big numbers. Coles is facing Baltimore and Givens is facing the Dolphins.  I am also starting Harrison.

Thoughts?

yup, both WRs are facing defenses that can matchup w/ their oppoent's receivers one on one w/out safety help.

Maybe thinking that way, the QB should be the deciding factor and Brady gets a huge nod over brunell and his struggling arm roight now. Besides, Gibbs isn't calling a lot of deep throws -

My guess is Givens............something to take into consideration though is that, as you probably already know, Patsie's WRs are hit and miss.

KillerKing and Sameold mention excellent considerations (i.e. Brady vs. Brunnell and the fact that Branch is still out).  However, word is that McCallister, the Ravens shutdown corner, will spend most the game covering Gardner, which means Coles should have a pretty good day.

Something to consider, I personally would start Coles, but it's not an easy decision.

Me, too.  Go with your money guy.  The Patriots receivers are just way too unpredictable and the Dolphins secondary is just too good.

I'd give Givens the go.  He's starting opposite an inconsistent Patten.  He'll get the first look from Brady on passing plays.

I would start Coles.  Brady spreads the ball around quite a bit and he's playing against a stingy Dolphins defense.  As a result a lot of receivers could get looks with none of them "lighting it up."  Just my opinion!

Givens 4-33 and one 5 yard TD.
Coles 3-25, 0 TDs.

;)
