Title: Second Opinion on Trade
Post by lumber2121 on Oct 11th, 2004, 5:28pm
Okay.  I already asked everyone for their opinion on this trade.  In light of some poor performances this week, I would like to get a second round of opinions on this trade.  The trade would be to a team that is one game behind me in the standings.

I would give up Harrison, Roethlisberger and Barlow and receive Thomas Jones, Donte Stallworth and Marc Bulger.  My original plan was to then trade Bulger to get Chad Johnson.

Here is my roster
QB - Plummer, Delhomme, Roethlisberger
RB - M. Faulk, S. Jackson, C. Taylor, L. Henry, K. Barlow
WR - L. Coles, D. Givens, M. Harrison
TE - A. Gates
K - Wilkins
DST  - Panthers

Here is my competition's roster
QB - T. Brady, M. Bulger
RB - C. Dillon, D. Staley, T. Jones, O. Smith, N. Davenport
WR - H. Ward, D. Stallworth, L. Fitzgerald
TE - B. Williams, D. Clark
K - J. Brown
DST - Steelers

The roster from which I would receive C. Johnson
QB - McNair, Collins, Harrington
RB - Tomlinson, Martin, Duckett, Green
WR - Bruce, Johnson, D. Jackson
TE - Shockey
K - Kasay
DST - Vikings, Ravens

It is very tough for me to pull the trigger on this one as I may make my top competition better than me.  Any thoughts?  Should I make the first trade?  If so, should I trade for C. Johnson or keep Bulger, try to trade one of my other QBs and/or play Givens and Stallworth based on matchups?

after this week i think maybe i would pull both trades....but bulger might be nice to keep....barlow hasnt showed much and since 49ers always coming from behind they dont run much....pull the trades in my opnion....you could trade for chad and use delhomme who seems to be putting up solid numbers.....plummer also....but the first trade i feel like you are getting a great deal now...

I'd do it, but don't trade for Johnson.

You'll be stronger at RB where you need help.
You'll be stronger at QB where you need help.
Harrison v. Johnson is a draw IMO.

Are you saying that you would not trade Johnson for Bulger?  Or do you think I should do that part of the trade as well?
