Title: "Red Zone Fantasy MVP's of the Week" - Week 5
Post by StegRock on Oct 12th, 2004, 6:58pm
Here is another one of our fun participatory threads here in "the Red Zone" (to go along with our "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week").  It is called "Red Zone Fantasy MVP's of the Week".  Here, you are to list your key player(s) for the week, the one or ones that were key to your victory(ies).  I really think we can have some fun with this! [smiley=dancin.gif] You can expect this to be up every Monday/Tuesday from here on out!

Well, my player on my bench has to be Duece McAllister.  Great decision there!!!  Instead of starting him I decided to go with Leonard Henry.   [smiley=dunce.gif]

However, my MVP has to be Chad Pennington.  His 300+ yards was the difference.

My stud of the week would have to be twofold:

Tiki Barber
Eric Johnson

Both have given me huge points week in and out and have been a huge boon to my team.

Game Balls go to :

Offense = C-Pep THE MAN!, A-John, S-Alex, & Gates!

Defense = Abraham the REAL Defensive end of the Jets! AND T.Suggs who is amazing!

Bench players = L.Thompson-DB-Ten who I picked up off of waivers the other week and had 2 INTs, 1 FF and 6 total tackles.
PLAX who everyone has given up on scored 30 something Insane FF points!

Disappointments = Vick of course but certainly not for Philly's disillusioned and deceiving reasons. (he has yet to prove anything other than a premature analysis of a phenominal athlete throughout the first 5 weeks of the NFL - ask yourselves - why isn't he doing the same w/ Holt or Ahaman Green, or Rich Gannon,  who ALL aren't producing their respective FF stats as compared to last year's numbers).

Defensive disappointment = Julian Peterson-LB-SF out for the seasoning.

Money League (TTOO):
Game balls go to a number of players:  Mewelde Moore (for coming out of nowhere), Larry Fitzgerald (for finally getting there), and then to Antonio Gates and Edge for getting a big win over the top team in the league.

GBRFL2:
Byron Leftwich and Shaun Alexander, though it almost seems futile at this point.

CBFL:
Andre Johnson, Antonio Gates, Josh McCown, and Pats D.  Another solid week here.'

GotG:
Randy Moss, Plaxico Burress, and Dan Morgan.  Still winless, but almost got one this week.

Stud would have to be Chris Brown, who I got in the 6th round of a keeper league, so I'm quite happy there.

Doghouse is Bubba Franks, cuz he grabbed that damn garbage time TD to beat me.  Was down 14, and Brown put me up, only to dash my hopes in the 4th.

Pitiful award goes to Vick, who has managed to get back to an even steven zero points over the last 3 weeks.  -1, 3, -2

Mewelde Moore was the #4 RB on the roster during training camp.  Only those few people who followed college football or the NFL draft (or read my outstanding draft analysis during the offseason) even knew who he was.  The Vikes do have a nice offense (although they couldn't run the ball at all against the Eagles earlier this season with Onterrio Smith), but I don't know many people who had the cojones to start Mewelde even if they were astute enough to grab him off the WW.  Most people still seemed to think that Moe Williams would get most of the carries last weekend.

QFL, CBFL: Tiki Barber

GBRFL2: David Carr

Giants of the Gridiron: Byron Leftwich

Norcal Nomads: Antonio Gates

Probert: Roethlisberger did better than exected, unfortunately the rest of my team did not step up at all.

GotG: John Abraham and Jamie Sharper did well on the defensive side and allowed me to eeke out a win.

GBRFL2/CBFL: My whole team sucked, but I guess the Steelers D/ST did OK. I think I need to start researching some Eagles history.  :'(
