Title: Bench/Start
Post by twelve12 on Oct 14th, 2004, 4:36pm
WRs- H. Ward, Chad Johnson, Roy Williams (Pick 2)

RBs- LT, D. Davis, Deuce McAllister, W. Dunn (Pick 2)

(The big decision) QB- Matt Hasselbeck or Brett Favre (Pick 1)

WRs - Johnson for sure.  Ward only if Roy can't go vs. GB.   From what I'm hearing, Roy is probably going to sit, so you may end up with Ward.

RBs - LT & D Davis.   Davis has a good history vs TEN.  You just cant bench LT.

QB - The Compton Kitties are tougher on D than they have been in years.   If they still had Boyd roving the middle, they'd be downright good this year.   Sit Brat Farte and go with Hasselbeck.  He won't put up 4TDs, but 1 with decent yardage isn't too much to expect, IMO.

Good Luck!

WR-johnson and ward since doesnt look like roy will go this week

RBs- dom davis and LT2 but watch LTs injury report...may be of some concern

QB- dont play hasselbeck! farve will be throwing and throwing alot....and it wont matter if he throws 3 picks cause he will have 3 TDs too....hasselbeck is playing a tough team ON THE ROAD! and yes they have had 2 road wins but how many points were scored in those games.  21 @ NO and that was mostly on the ground and 10 @ tampa bay! i say stick with farve since they will be playing catch up...dont get me wrong though....i hope the seahawks win and im picking em to win....farve is a better fantasy play.

This is a tough one...

WR is pretty easy: Go with Chad and Hines.  Both are healthy and both are studs.

RB - I'd start Deuce.  (No, I don't think Dom Davis is a good play this week.  The Tennessee D shut Ahman Green down and could force the Texans to the air.)  LT2 hasn't practiced all week (they've been giving Michael Turner the extra reps as Chatman is injured too).  So I'd probably play it safe and go with Dunn.

QB - Favre has not played an entire game in the past 3 weeks, so I'd lean towards Hasselback who has a nice matchup this week.

Thanks for the info.
I think I'm gonna go with:
Favre (Threw three picks last week but still managed nearly 20 pts in my league and Hasselbeck has been average)
LT and Deuce (A lot of injuries in the Minnesota front seven and I think its gonna be a shootout)
Ward and C. Johnson (Williams is hurt but besides that he only managed 18 yds in 3 quarters of play last week and the Pepto wont help the Cleveland secondary and I'm from Dallas so I know they suck)
Eric Johnson
Phil Dawson
Falcons D

Anyone disagree with this let me know.

Umm... mistake there.... I didn't mean to say that Hass has a nice matchup.  He has a tough matchup, but I think they'll be forced to put it up and take their best shot through the air.  Remember when Hass faced a tough Raven D last season?  He lit them up.  He gets up for these big games (which is why I think the Seahawks will actually end the Pat's winning streak this weekend).

Just keep an eye on LT2's status.  Players who don't practice often don't play on Sunday.  Make sure you check on this one before kickoff.

Do you have any other options here?  I'm not sure this is the best D to start this weekend.  SD has been putting up quite a few points and the Atlanta secondary has some issues.  How does your D get scored?

Offensive scoring does not count in my league. You get points for sacks INT's Fumbles etc... I like to keep a high volume of RB's on hand so I only keep 1 Defense and do not rely very heavily on it. Only 15 roster spots are allowed.

Man, you guys must all be on crack.

WR: Ward and Chad Johnson..this is easy.  Roy Williams might not play and Ward is one of the top receivers in the league right now!  Johnson is also a big play receiver so you play him.

RB: LT2 and Deuce...any other answer is off the wall.  Deuce is starting this week against MIN as far as I know so he starts.  Does everyone forget that he got over 100 yards last week?!  If he can't go, you go with Dunn in his place.  And you just DO NOT BENCH LADAINIAN TOMLINSON EVEN IF HE HAS NO LEGS.

QB: Favre...Hasselbeck plays the Patriots.  The Patriots can be run on but passed on?  Nuff said.

Hines and Chad (two studs)
Duece and LT
Favre (Hasslebeck is better most weeks, but not against the Patriots defense)
