Title: transaction question
Post by s_laflesh on Oct 20th, 2004, 8:13pm
Im in an 8 person money league right now.  We are limited to only 5 transactions throughout the course of the year.  I am looking to pickup a wideout to give me more receiver depth.  Which of these guys would you rather pickup:  Michael Clayton, Donald Driver, Drew Bennett, Anquan Boldin, Keenan McCardell.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go with Donald Driver.

I'd rank them in this order...

Driver
Clayton
McCardell
Bennett/Boldin

i like clayton more then driver only because farve spreads the ball out well....clayton seems to be the main target for tampa quaterbacks no matter which one is in there....

Did you know that there is only one player in the NFL (Laveranues Coles - 64) who has been the intended target of more passes than Donald Driver (63)?

donald driver    37-443-12.0-3-1 FL
Michael clayton 31-443-14.3-1-0 FL

for not being targeted as much he sure is looking good to me.....same yardage with 6 less catches and obviously not as many oppurtunties since drivers is second in being targeted....

I get that info from premium service (footballinjuries.com), although this site: http://snap.stats.com/snap/pfw/nfl/leaders.asp?year=O&type=NFL+Receiving&rank=052&Submit=Go lists the top 20 in targets.  (Though those numbers differ from the ones I have... Mine show Coles 64, Driver and Bruce 63, ... Clayton 54.)

I will plug footballinjuries.com a bit... they tend to have better info than most sites.  Last week they said that Roy Williams would dress, but not play.  ESPN and Fox both reported that he would play (screwing a lot of fantasy owners).

Just found more of that info here at si.com:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/stats/2004/receiving/0_byRECPT_TARGET.html

That site also uses stats.com for its info.

The nice thing about footballinjuries.com is that they also list the targets in a grid so I can see week-to-week trends.

If you need info about specific players, lemme know and I'll pass it on.  For obvious reasons I can't just post the whole thing on this site.
