Title: Thomas Jones replacement?
Post by lumber2121 on Nov 4th, 2004, 1:39pm
It appears that Thomas Jones will be out this week and maybe two more.  I have Wheatley, S. Jackson and M. Faulk on my team.  My inclination is to start Wheatley this week.

Should I pick up Kevin Faulk in case Jones is out for a while?  It is a crap shoot as to whether Dillon is out for any length of time.  The Pats are not exactly open about their injuries.

If I pick up K. Faulk, should I drop Stallworth or Burleson?

By the way, Jesse Chatman and Anthony Thomas were both picked up this week.  Are there any other good options out there?

Maybe Onterrio Smith, if you can still get him.  M. Moore may sit out this week, and Smith was of course the starter before his suspension.

If your Free Agents list is really thin and depending on your scoring system, Cloud should be there as a goal line back for the Giants.  In some match-ups, he could at least get you a TD.

Here are the types of RBs still available in my league: Hoover, Cloud, Pinner, R. Anderson, L. Toefield.  Kevin Faulk and Anthony Thomas are not available.

I will probably start Wheatley, unless someone has a better idea or I can pull off a last minute trade.  The latter is not very likely.

I think Wheatley against the pourous Panthers run defense should be a pretty good start for this week.  However, I may need a more long term fix if Jones is out for several weeks.  I have to remember that turf toe ended the career of one of the toughest men in the history of the NFL, Jack Lambert.
