Title: Trade Tomlinson?

What do you think:
I would trade LT and Matt Hasselbeck for Peyton Manning and Reuben Droughns in return.

Can you share the rest of your roster with us? Thanks!  :)

This is a value for value trade and since I would be swapping a player at two of the same positions, the rest of my roster really shouldn't matter on this one.

QB-Favre, Hasselbeck
RB-McAllister, Tomlinson, Dom Davis, Dunn
WR-C Johnson, Ward R Smith N Burleson, R Williams
TE- E Johnson
k- Vanderjagt
d-Falcons

Sure it does. You are strengthening one position by weakening another. In this instance, I don't think I'd do this trade, simply because you have 2 real good QB's, one who is a very good second half performer, and a good enough supporting cast at RB to back up LT2. I'd stay put.

The reason why I said it didn't matter who was on my roster and what I meant by value for value was that is the downgrade at RB overpowered by the upgrade at QB with the players that are involved in that trade. I wasn't considering the rest of my roster in this particular deal. The object of Fantasy Football is to score points, in which case Manning scores a lot more than Tomlinson which is a point there, and Droughns I dont think would be that bad of a downgrade from Tomlinson because he is piling up steady yardage.

I see your point, but I wouldn't make that trade if my other running backs were Ron Dayne, Anthony Thomas and Sammie Morris as opposed to the ones you have. See my point?

Bottom line, if you feel this makes your team better, go for it! You probably can get good points from your other RBs if you play the matchup game well, and McAllister wakes up. Manning is a definite upgrade at QB.

If you're going to ask trade help, be sure to include the rest of your roster and ALSO your scoring.  In this case, I think that Manning is a big upgrade over Hass and that Droughns is a downgrade from LT2.  What would sway me would be the scoring system.  If you get 6 pts. per passing TD and other things that make the QBs more valuable than RBs, it could make a difference.

But, all-in-all, I think you're fine at QB and shouldn't need to take the hit at RB to upgrade an already-solid position.
