Title: f taylor or d. davis
Post by geojon on Nov 13th, 2004, 10:36pm
This one is a toughie.

F. Taylor will be the focus of offensive attention this week as Leffwich is out of the picture. OTOH, his coach has made it known that he is not happy with Fred's short yardage game and will send in a specialist to get the one/two yards for the score. Hmmm.

D. Davis will play second fiddle to the passing game v. Indie. He catches passes, but chances are Houston will be playing catch-up and go to the WRs. How many touches will Dominick get?

What's your take on this issue?

Tks.

I love Davis's matchup and feel he is at full strength. He gets a lot of receptions and will not be hurt much if the Texans get behind in a hurry. I feel confident he will have a great week.

Basically Fred sucks, over the hill, and dominick is becoming a stud.  If he runs well like most people think, he will be able to keep indy offense off the field.  Indy def is not that great so play him and know the points will be coming in.

What is your scoring system for RB's?

Yeah, Fred Taylor is so over the hill that he continues to put up good stats.  That makes a lot of sense.

Fred Taylor for the sure points, Domanick Davis for the gamble.

tough call.

Portis ran all over DET last week & even threw a TD.  so that thinking says Taylor should do well against DET d.  but Taylor's only had 1 100 yd rush game (all others under 81) and only 2 TD's (1 rush, 1 rec) this year.
JAX also has Gerrard as QB - who knows how that will go.

HOU got crushed by DEN last week but Dom Davis still had 71 yds rush, 19 rec and 2 TD's.  so that bodes well if they get down to INDY this week.  Davis has had 5 TD's (only in 3 games out of 7 played) but no 100 yd games.  ha also catches passes.  he was injured in wk 3, out wk 4 and didnt look good at all in wk 5, 6.  but looked pretty good wk 9 after their bye.  i think he's back.

i like Dom Davis this week.

Tks everybody for your well-informed replies. Just what I needed.

re: What is your scoring system for RB's?

50 pts/td & 1 pt/yard rushing/receiving yds.

re: red Taylor for the sure points, Domanick Davis for the gamble.

I'll be running Edge, Holt, Walker, Tony G and McNabb out there this week, so I can afford to take the gamble.

Tks alot.

50 pts is a typo, right?

Not a typo. That's our league rules. Tks for the consult, fellahs. It was the right choice tho I lost the game, thanks to a freak overtop performance by M. Muhammed. O well, I'll get 'em next week, right?
