Title: PLEASE HELP!!!!
Post by junkyard872 on Nov 17th, 2004, 11:00am
Im in a 2 QB league.  Im fighting for the last playoff spot, thus every week is critical.  I have Peyton and one QB spot but the other is taken by Matt Hasselback.  I just picked up Eli.  Is it totally out of the question to bench Matt and possibly start Eli.  Also:

would anyone start wheatley over barlow?

Im really big on sticking with the players that i drafted the highest which would be hasselback and barlow but i dont what to do because they both have tough matchups and matt has and injury and some receivers out.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

This is a tough one.  Hasslebeck's hand will be a major consideration.  Keep an eye on how he progresses during the week.  If Hasselbeck is probable or better, go with him.  Manning is a rookie and rookies, with the possible exception of Roethlisberger, make mistakes.   A dinged up Hasslebeck is a better bet than Eli.

Barlow is also a tough call.  Erickson said that he is going to go with which ever running back is hot.  That means that Barlow may split carries with Maurice Hicks.  He did pretty well in the second half of last week's game (8 carries for 48 yards).  Wheatley will definitely start and appears to be Oakland's red zone guy.  I would go with Wheatley, but it is a very tough call.

I agree... Hasselbeck is inconsistent, but at least you know he is capable of putting up big numbers, although the Miami pass D has been good.  Eli is an unknown and too much of a risk right now.  The Giants are going to run Tiki a lot.

For the RB, go with Wheatley.  He's healthy and should get enough chances.

As of now im leaning toward Hasselback and Barlow.

hasselbeck and manning will both be handing off alot...but another thing is that bobby engram is coming back....which could improve hasselbecks numbers....i like hasselbeck

im gonna have to say wheatley because of barlows fit last week....i think barlow is on the last straw....also wheatley has been getting the TDs....

[smiley=bullseye.gif] I often get scared when I agree with Philly, but in this case, I do. Wheatley will see alot of chances, and Barlow on the road against a tough Tampa defense will not yield good dividends.

Wheatley plays against the Chargers whom have a better run defense than Tampa Bay.

You have to start Barlow.

As far as Hasselbeck vs. Eli goes...Eli won't throw as much as Hasselbeck, but he does go against a weaker pass defense by far (Falcons in the bottom half in the league).

Choices here are Eli and Barlow.

hasselbeck downgraded to questionable....maybe eli is better start if they had to downgrade him...
