this is my first year in a keeper league. we keep 2 players, 10 team league. here are my viable options:

Roy Williams, Dillon, Lee Evans, Chad Johnson, David Carr

thats it folks.

who would you keep??

as another post asked - is it worth it to grab Rasta Ricky or Julius Jones?

Dillon and Roy Williams are your best options. Dillon is getting older, but he is still your most valuable player. In a redraft league, I see him as the 8th-14th best overall player next year. Roy Williams has shown the talent to be among the premier WRs for his career in his rookie season. In the next few seasons he could be as valuable as Moss, Harrison, and TO have been the past few years.

Chad Johnson may be good trade bait, and is a borderline keeper. If you can get any kind of a better draft position by trading him, do it.

David Carr and Lee Evans are quality young players, but not worth consideration as keepers.

Julius Jones is definitely worth grabbing. His worth is about the same as Roy Williams right now, but extremely volatile due to his limited playing time. If he has any more games like the one this week he will be more valuable than Dillon. If he bombs, he could be worthless.

Ricky is worthless except for trade value. If you can get him and trade him to a sucker, go for it.

Julius is solid pickup. Ricky is now worth grabbing as well. I would only trade him away though. He is a risky bet now. Who knows where he will go, but he will have value to someone.

Dillon and Roy for me too...at this time. Julius had a good game, but 1 game does not make a superstar.

Of the guys being discussed here, I believe they will end up being keepable in the following order:

1) Corey Dillon
2) Julius Jones
3) David Carr
4) Roy Williams

Running backs are just that much of a commodity. The case for Dillon cannot be stated any better than bg states it above. I also believe Jones to be the real deal, lack of currently available data notwithstanding, and we all know Parcells "wants his back". Williams came out of the gate with a fury, but has surely calmed down since then, yes, in part at least, due to injury, but that too is part of the game. And, now, the Lions may be making a change at quarterback away from Harrington with whom Williams was developing good chemistry early on. I would actually keep Carr over him. I think he is really on the upswing. Next year could be his breakout year... in a big way. As stated above, though, I would do whatever you can to get your hands on Julius Jones.

I disagree with the majority and say Corey Dillon and Chad Johnson.

How can you think of NOT keeping Johnson? He has a better QB situation than Detroit and you know he can put up good numbers. He also hasn't had the same injury concerns as Roy Williams.

You know Cincinatti is capable of getting CJ the ball. You don't know if Detroit can do the same to Roy Williams.
