Title: Re: Green Bay Runninig Situation??? Post by Callie on Nov 30th, 2004, 9:50pm All I've read is that his status for next weekend will not be announced till later in the week. Could mean Friday practice or even gametime. When do you need to set the lineup? Edit: I mean Green, of course....... |

Title: Re: Green Bay Runninig Situation??? Post by Chumpzilla on Dec 1st, 2004, 4:37am During the game on Monday night Al or John mentioned that Mike Sherman held Green out this week so he'd be ready for Philly. One of the "other" sites is also reporting that Green is expected to practice today. I guess we should know a lot more by the end of today. |

Title: Re: Green Bay Runninig Situation??? Post by Philly on Dec 1st, 2004, 9:34am From what I understand, there will be two players in the Green Bay backfield on Sunday... Jevon Kearse and Jeremiah Trotter. [smiley=hellyeafunny.gif] In all seriousness, I have heard (no link, sorry) that Ahman will be ready for Sunday, although I'm sure Najeh will get some action too, considering his efforts Monday night. |

Title: Re: Green Bay Runninig Situation??? Post by lumber2121 on Dec 1st, 2004, 6:00pm To echo everyone else. Green is suppose to practice today, but he they will not make a decision until later in the week. I too need to keep and eye on this one. I might start Davenport over Faulk if Green is not going to play. I was extremely impressed by Davenport on Monday night. Then again, it was against the Rams defense and not the Eagles. |

The Packers, their fans, and Madden need a realtiy check. It looks like Green is going to play http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1936530 What is Davenport's value in a keeper league? I read that he is a restricted free agent at the end of the year. If the Packers let him go he could be a RB stud. |

Title: Re: Green Bay Runninig Situation??? Post by lumber2121 on Dec 2nd, 2004, 8:26am As stated, Green in likely to start. Also, Davenport has sore ribs. This makes Green's start more likely. Davenport will be a big time back if he lands with another team that has a good offensive plan. He is a gamble because he could wind up with a team with a bad offensive scheme and/or supporting cast. Just look at what is going on with Clinton Portis. He was a true stud in Denver and he has been putting up numbers of a very good inconsistent number two back. Protecting Davenport largely depends on how deep your keeper list goes. For example, my league only has one keeper per team. I have a similar dilemma. I have to figure out if I am going to protect Thomas Jones, Steven Jackson or Antonio Gates. I know that thinking of protecting a TE is crazy, but Gates just may be that good. |
