big game this weekend. if I can beat this guy, I take over first place in my division and set myself for a bye in the first week of the playoffs. Johnson plays balt and branch plays cleveland. what do you think?

We all saw the lovely defensive display from Cleveland last week, so I'd give Branch the nod. I am hesitant to start any offensive player against the Ravens.

I am actually starting both of these guys this week. Johnson is getting a lot of looks, but Branch against the Browns should put up better numbers.

Actually, Chad Johnson plays some of his best ball against the Ravens. In his last 5 games against the Ravens, he has...

26 catches, 432 yards, 3 TDs

All of his touchdowns were on plays of 35 yards or longer.

Besides, New England spreads the ball around so much. Add Corey Dillon's rushing stats and Brady's decline in passing numbers this year and you will see that the clear cut choice here is...

Tough call. It is hard not to go with Johnson since he is your better player, but Branch against the Brownies?

I'd pick the wrong one whomever I'd choose. ;)

you know, i thought of "sexy dexy's" point with Chad Johnson's past numbers against the Ravens, however, that was with somebody other than Carson Palmer at the helm. In the first game this year, CJ had 2 catches for 15 yards. Therefore, I will go with the obvious choice, which will prob. end up being the wrong one, and start branch. Thnaks all for your input!

Dullo....In what game did Chad Johnson have two catches for 15 yards? His worst game this year was Week 6 against the Browns where he had 3 catches for 37 yards. Against the Ravens in week 3 he had 8 catches for 99 yards. If you mean the actual first game of the season, he had 5 catches for 99 yards and a touchdown. Johnson seems to play better when facing top corners. I'd go with Johnson.

obviously I have no idea what i'm talking about. that's why i come to this board for opinions. of course, there always has to be one person who adds that little bit of doubt to a decision I had thought I was finished with. thanks, now I get to go through overanalysis by paralysis. :D

twelve12 rasises a very good point. Johnson <i>has<[/i] had his best games against better backs. I, for one, am hoping he comes up big this week.

Glad I decided to put CJ in my lineup instead of Branch. thanks all for your help. Of course, I wish I hadn't started Favre (2 pts), Deuce McAllister (1pt) or Isaac Bruce (3 pts) in the big game. Unless Shawn ALexander and Josh Brown go off, its all for naught. thanks......Dullo

no, still lost by 12. I clinched a wild card spot and took over the overall points lead so if I can just put up some solid pt totals for the rest of the season, I should be making some decent money.
