Title: Re: who to start? Post by BarnabyWilde on Dec 2nd, 2004, 7:56pm L1- Hasselbeck, the lesser of 3 evils here. L1a- Brown. Wilkins will kick extra points only this week. L1b- I like Buffalo vs. the weaker offense here. L2- Delhomme vs. a terrible Saints defense. Good luck. |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by Philly on Dec 3rd, 2004, 9:27am As hard as it is for me to admit it, I agree with everything BW said in the previous post. :o |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by lumber2121 on Dec 3rd, 2004, 11:46am I agree with everything for league 1 In league 2, I would start Plummer, eventhough the Saints defense is not nearly as good as the Chargers. Plummer put up pretty good numbers last week considering the very tough conditions. Plummer has been one of the top guys at QB. Meanwhile, Delhomme is not afraid to throw a lot of interceptions. I do not like the inconsistency of Delhomme. In short, I am going against the grain on this one, I would go with Plummer. |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by kec6906 on Dec 3rd, 2004, 1:06pm one addition to L1...... would you pick up Collins vs KC over Hasselback??? alot of sites i'm reading predict Collins will have a better day than Hass. Collins doesnt have much of a running game so i think he would be throwing more (like last week). Hass has Alex to carry the load. i need to win this week or i'm prob out of playoffs. thanks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ QB: Hass, Testy, Harrington [start 1] RB: CMart, D Davis, Morris [start 2] WR/TE: R Moss, Holt, Gonzo, Pollard, Moore [start 3] K: Wilkins, Brown DEF: BAL, BUF ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ KC. Title: Re: who to start? Post by Philly on Dec 3rd, 2004, 1:54pm In my money league, I had gone the entire season with Brooks and Harrington as my QBs. I dumped Harrington this week and added Collins and Bledsoe. Both of them have nice schedules upcoming. I would go ahead and give Collins a start ahead of Hasselbeck this week. Hass is down one WR and D-Jax has been dropping everything thrown his way, so they'll rely heavily on Alexander. |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by Callie on Dec 3rd, 2004, 6:06pm I agree with BW, except for DT. The Ravens tend to be very angry after a big loss (Can you spell Ray-Ray? He must have that D breathing fire by now.), and Rudi will not be the threat he can usually be against the BAL D. That limits the options of Palmer, who is not as good on the road. I would go with the Ravens D. |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by StegRock on Dec 3rd, 2004, 6:55pm I would go with Collins over Hasselbeck. He seems to have finally really taken the reigns, won over his teammates and is producing. I think this is a forward trend. I think Hasselbeck's going backwards is also a forward trend. I think Seattle will get upset this week by a Dallas Cowboys team with newly revitalized playoff hopes and a never-say-die coach. I even think that a Hasselbeck benching is not completely out of the question. Next, play Buffalo over Baltimore. This is based sheerly on matchup. The Dolphins offense sucks that bad and the Bills defense, and overall team for that matter, is good enough. Oh, my "Two Jakes"! [smiley=smitten.gif] Got to go with Plummer as per my Broncos FF-specific team report (http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/broncos/broncos-footballinfoframes.htm). Delhomme's matchup is VERY deceiving this week. Looks good, but really isn't. Carolina will probably be playing with a (good) lead for most of the game. This = great game for Nick Goings, probably ~ so good for Delhomme. ... And, anyway, the proof is in the pudding. I have "The Two Jakes", hence my GBRFL team name, [smiley=whistle.gif] and I am going with Plummer and Griese this week. As for your kicker sitch, [smiley=shrug.gif] ... My coin says... [smiley=twocents.gif] heads... Brown. I think Wilkins will be kicking extra points only all day. |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by BarnabyWilde on Dec 3rd, 2004, 8:50pm I too would pick up Collins over Hass this week. I think KC will throw for at least 3 scores this week, maybe 4 (See my bold prediction this week) |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by kec6906 on Dec 4th, 2004, 2:04pm well, someone else took Collins ahead of me so now i'm stuck with my 3 original choices of Hass, Testy, Harrington. so i have to decide between Hass & Testy. only other options are Bledsoe & Boller on WW. ***looks like McNair is out again*** Volek is also avail. what do you think about him at TEN. of course i play against Favre this week. doesnt look promising for the playoffs. oh well, any other thoughts would be appreciated. Title: Re: who to start? Post by Callie on Dec 4th, 2004, 2:35pm I'd play Hass over Testy. Hass is not the greatest these days, but the Dallas secondary is lousey and their pass rush is usually not great. It's possible that Alexander could get the points, but at least you have a shot at it with Hass over Testy. Testy has to deal with Seattle's pass rush and corners. Henson could even end up finishing the game if there's no hope. |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by junkyardjake on Dec 4th, 2004, 4:48pm I agree with Callie on Hasselbeck over Testaverde this week, Hasselbeck definitely has more upside, but hopefully the rest of your lineup picks up the slack. I also think Philly brings up a great point concerning Bledsoe in particular, after this week at Miami, in which he is obviously a crappy start, this is what his schedule looks like: 12/12 Cleveland 12/19 @Cincinnati 12/26 @San Francisco Bledsoe could definitely help some QB-deficient teams during fantasy playoffs. |

I did still go with Plummer. :P BUT, I must admit, contrary to my recommendation here, I did make a last-minute change on Sunday and put Delhomme in over Griese, :-[ ... thank God. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] |

Title: Re: who to start? Post by kec6906 on Dec 7th, 2004, 10:02am well, i did stay with Plummer for the one league (i was going to switch to Delhomme sunday morning but forgot - i still would have lost anyway - he had McNabb). still in playoffs - finished 4th overall & 4th seed playing 5th seed next week. hopefully Plummer will pick it up at home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [/sup] QB: Plummer, Delhomme RB: Holmes (ouch), Blaylock (?), Pittman, K Jones, E Smith, Bennett WR: Harrison, J Smith K: Vandy DEF: ATL [sup] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ played Hass in other league - i was down 32 pts and had Hass & Josh Brown going. they scored 41 for me!! defeated my bro's team - put me in the playoffs and knocked him out. looks like i play against Manning this week in 1st round. ugh. [/sup] QB: Hass, Testy, Harrington (might drop Harrington & pick up Bledsoe) RB: CMart, D Davis, Wells, Morris WR/TE: R Moss, Holt, Gonzo, Moore, Pollard K: Wilkins, J Brown DEF: BAL, BUF [sup] talk to you during the week guys. i'm sure i'll be looking for & giving some advice.
