Title: WDIS: WR and RB? Post by lumber2121 on Dec 8th, 2004, 7:46am It all comes down to this. If I win I am in the playoffs. If I lose, I need several teams to lose in order to make it. M. Faulk is not going to practice all week. S. Jackson has a bruised knee that is worse than initially thought. T. Jones appears to be my only definite. L. Johnson is on the radar screen after last week. N. Davenport is pretty banged up. Who should I start at RB? Jackson @ Carolina Faulk @ Carolina T. Jones @ Jacksonville L. Johnson @ Tennessee N. Davenport vs. Detroit C. Johnson is a definite start. Burleson is going against a week Seattle passing defense and Moss has not caught a lot of balls since his return. Coles has a bum toe. Branch is going against the relatively weak Bengals defense. Lee Evans is doing the same against Cleveland. Who should I start at WR alongside C. Johnson? Branch vs. Cincinnati Burleson vs. Seattle Coles vs. Philadelphia Evans vs. Cleveland By the way, the forecast for Sunday in Orchard Park, NY calls for showers and 40 degrees. The forecast for Foxboro is 47 degrees and partly cloudy. |

Title: Re: WDIS: WR and RB? Post by kec6906 on Dec 8th, 2004, 12:48pm hate to say it but you have some pretty weak RB choices this week. -T Jones is your only healthy starter but against a tough defense -Johnson will split carries with Blaylock (Blaylock still the starter as long as he plays monday) -Davenport is backup (Green is healthy) -Faulk is most likely out -Jackson (starts if Faulk is out but how bad is Jackson hurt? - if they are both out Arlen Harris starts) have to go with T Jones, Jackson (if he starts), Johnson. anyone left on WW? Goings, maybe? as far as WR goes you have better choices there. -Burleson - Moss is back and when he doesnt get the ball, its Robinson. -Coles - injured but says he'll play - dont like his matchup - Philly still playing to clinch homefield throughout playoffs -Branch - Bradys go to guy since he came back from injury -Evans - good matchup at home against horrible road CLE team. BUF been playing well lately. i'd say Branch or Evans. tough call. Evans might be a good sleeper play. he's been seeing the ball alot more lately, against a worse team than Branch will face. Cincy looked half decent at BAL last week - although it was against Boller. i'm leaning towards Evans depending on how bad the weather is going to be in BUF. Good Luck. Title: Re: WDIS: WR and RB? Post by lumber2121 on Dec 10th, 2004, 11:59am My RB situation is looking more grim. Jackson and Faulk are both listed as questionable. Would Arlen Harris be worth picking up if he starts for the Rams? Should I just go with T. Jones and L. Johnson? |

Title: Re: WDIS: WR and RB? Post by StegRock on Dec 11th, 2004, 3:23pm Wow! This is a toughie! If Jackson starts, I'd go with him. A very close second on my list would be Larry Johnson. No better place to showcase him to the rest of the league AND see how he performs on the big Monday night stage and whether or not he is an option for next season given Priest's knee issues, which cannot just be ignored! At wideout, I'm with kc almost 100%, Branch then Evans, but I think Burleson is a toss-up with Evans. I think Branch is the safest bet of all, though, but how can one call playing a Patriots wide receiver a safe bet. Go with Branch with [smiley=fingerscrossed.gif] and praying! Good luck, lumberman!
