Standard fantasy scoring for yardage and TD's with 1/2 point per catch.  Should I start Nick Goings or Larry Johnson??

Based purely on matchups... go with Goings.  Denver has a more accomplished defense than Atlanta does right now.

I gotta disagree with the Philster on this one.  Take advantage of that scoring festival they are going to have in KC tomorrow and ride that LJ [smiley=surfing.gif] wave.  Atlanta's run defense can put the cruch on when they put their minds to it and this is a HUGE game for the Falcons and Goings is due for a down game, finally.  LJ needs to keep performing.  This is a CRUCIAL time in his career.  Mind you, my bias is in the opposite direction:  I have never liked LJ and, on the other hand, have Goings in the GBRFL and am a BIG fan of his.  Still I advise to play LJ over Goings this week. [smiley=shrug.gif] Good luck, whatever you do! [smiley=shammy.gif]

Wow, this one is really tough, I think both Philly and Steg are right.

I would say Goings is the more consistent, reliable option.  However, Larry Johnson has more upside, so I would give him a slight edge.  (Only because Blaylock looks to be very doubtful to play).

(And, of course this will be of no help whatsoever [smiley=donut.gif], looking at the time it is now 8:30 )

Good luck

Thanks guys!  I had Johnson in initially and changed it after seeing Philly's post.  However, I've been mulling it over all day and had second thoughts.  After reading Steg's recent post I decided to go with my gut and put L.J. back in.  I guess it's out of my hands now!

Thanks for the feedback guys!!!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

C'mon... it's not like Goings had a bad game... he finished with 90 yards, a TD, and a fumble recovery.  I'd hardly call that dodging a bullet.

But I'm glad you stuck with LJ.  He certainly had the better game of the two.

In our scoring system Goings put up 8.5 and L.J. threw up 22.  This is one of those rare instances where this decision actually won me the game.

I really appreciate the feedback from everyone.  It's great to get different perspectives and really provokes thought! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  Thank you!!!   [smiley=bow.gif]

Stats from the last three games:

LJ
1 Game Started
373 Yards
57 Att
5 RuTD
75 yards rec
1 ReTD
6.5 yards per carry

Goings
3 Games Started
291 Yards
3 RuTD
31 Yards rec
0 ReTD
3.2 yards per carry

LJ is putting up monster numbers is an offense that is suited for RBs to put up monster numbers.  LJ is going to start again this week.  Blaylock is a free agent after this season so there is no reason for Vermeil to showcase Blaylock.  On the other hand, it is in the Chiefs best interest to see what LJ can do and to showcase him for a possible trade.  Johnson should get a bulk of the action and will be a better start than Goings.

Go with Johnson.
