The Giants were thought to have Steeler LB Kendrell Bell in their sights, even had him in for a physical today, but jumped at the opportunity to grab Pierce. Great signing by the Giants!

Kareem McKenzie signs with the Giants. So far we shored up the MLB and OT spots. Now all we need is Plaxico to sign on the dotted line!! ;D

I bumped into Kareem McKenzie's father in the elevator at my office (his father is a security guard for the company) a few months ago.  This was right after the Pro Bowl squads were announced and he was complaining that Kareem should have been selected.  (I think he just wanted a trip to Hawaii ;) .)  I knew of Kareem from his HS days at Willingboro HS (not far from where I live) and his college days at Penn St.  I keep hoping to see the elder McKenzie again so I can rip his son's choice of playing for the enemy Giants.   ;)

The only way the Giants will be better is if Plax lives up to the potential that he's being billed as having.  Otherwise, the Giants WR corps will continue to suck.

So now the Giants have Eli Manning, Tim Hasselbeck (have they got some kind of brother complex? ;D), Jared Lorenze, Jesse Palmer and Jim Miller.  That's just weird. :P ;)

Miller is hurt. They say he may miss the entire season with his hip injury.

Hasselbeck is in my opinion a great pick up. He will compete with Palmer and Lorenzen for the #2 spot.

Everything I've read on this just laughs it off.  The main comment is that Burress has the money, willl pay it, and it all goes away.

Although the Giants don't really need distractions like this, especially for something stupid like not bothering to show up for a hearing.

Burress cleared.  He didn't owe any taxes after all.

"He paid where he worked, it was taken right out of his paycheck by
the Steelers and paid over to the city of Pittsburgh," Potter said
yesterday. "He's paid every penny he owed. The municipality he lived
in three or four years ago thought he should be paying tax there. He
shouldn't have been paying tax there. It was a mistake that they came
