Title: Buccaneers Offseason Report
Post by Philly on Mar 2nd, 2005, 8:51am
The Bucs release QB Brad Johnson and WR Joe Jurevicius.

Nothing surprising here.  Had someone like Rich Gannon become available in the 04 off-season, Johnson probably wouldn't have lasted this long with the Bucs.

"Buccaneers | Simms doing Better Taking Snaps - from www.KFFL.com
Wed, 8 Jun 2005 22:29:05 -0700

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Chris Simms had difficulty with the snap from center throughout his limited playing time in 2004. For as long as he has played quarterback, the left-handed throwing Simms has taken snaps with his left hand on top of his right. Now the team has changed the way Simms takes his snaps, putting his right hand on top and so far, the results are encouraging. Simms believes his approach was the biggest factor to the bobbled snap problem, but not the only one."

Maybe that's why Smith is gone.
