I have a chance to keep Jordan in my keeper league, any predictions as to his numbers for the year. In the past couple of years the Raiders have been platooning their rb's. Kinda makes me think he is not as valuable. What do you all think of the situation in RaiderLand?

Well, since I'm in the same keeper league as you, maybe I shouldn't be offering my opinion here, but I imagine it is a question that many are thinking about.

The way I see it, we have to look at the coach. His philosophy is to mix a power running game with a deep threat passing game. Now he's got the power back that he desires, so I imagine he'll get used.

Then look at the offensive line... They have a couple solid young players (Gallery, Grove) and then a bunch of question marks in Walker, Sims, and Badger. The Raiders ranked last in rushing in 2004 for reasons other than a weak stable of RBs...

The passing game will certainly open up some opportunities for the running game. The defensive backs won't be able to cheat the LOS as much with Moss and Porter a threat to run by them.

So, all in all, I see Jordan having a decent, but not spectacular season. I would think that 900-1100 yards and 6-8 TDs is a realistic projection for Jordan. Great stats for a #2 RB, but not good enough for your #1 back.

If the offensive line gels some and plays over their heads, then Jordan could play at a #1 fantasy RB level, but I don't see that happening.

First off, how many guys can you keep? And, then, secondly, who are your other options?

As for "windows" on Jordan for '05,... I see him having 1,250 to 1,500 combined yards, 950 to 1,250 rushing, and 7 to 9 combined touchdowns. I think he will be the featured back. The platooning of the recent past, I think, has more to do with the personnel they were working with. Now they have a go-to back, for sure.

I think the Raiders offense will be will revolve around Moss and the passing game. Jordan will be the man when they run the ball, but his yardage output may be limited by the success they have throwing the ball. Still I think he is good for 900 - 1100 rushing yards (and some receiving yards too, but not to many because they have so many receivers). I think he will have a very solid TD output, maybe double digits if Collins is effective at moving the offense.

Also, don't forget Crockett as goal line vulture from time to time. Norv started remembering Zack existed later in the season last year.

Fargas could also be a factor if Jordan can't carry a full load. We don't know yet if he can, but I suspect he'll be feature back all season.

Thanks for all the replies. In our league we get to keep 4 players, but we have offense and defensive players. I have a bunch of nice talent, but I think keeping a decent rb over another position is key in this league according to the way people horded all the rb's last year, even the dud ones that never played, but all the injuries during the year anyone can become a starter in the nfl.
