Post by prm on Aug 13th, 2005, 5:53pm
things didn't turn out the way i planned - still got most of my list - but prices were insane (auction league/ $200 cap)...

qb - a. brooks /j. delhomme
rb - j. lewis / d. mcallister / jj arrington / b. jacobs
wr - i. bruce / l. fitzgerald / d. stallworth
te - d. jolley / c. cooley
k - s. graham / n. rackers
d - carolina
what do you guys think in general - i still have to assess myself vs. other is the league because i became numb after i got deuce...it was all a blur after that...($75)
i've got a lot of big IFs on this team...

That's a very strong team PRM, although I think you can improve on the receivers.  Bruce is solid, but declining, Fitzgerald is a promising young guy, but Warner is a question mark and Stallworth is just undependable (although can be a top-15 receiver if he ever decides to committ to it).  Luckily, receiver is the easiest position to improve, I wouldn't be surprised if players like Reggie Williams and Michael Jenkins even got drafted.

I really like your RBs and think Brandon Jacobs was a terrific pick.  He seems to be the rookie RB nobody talks about, but his size and speed combination are probably as good as Ronnie Brown.  If Barber misses time, that guy will be huge (and the Giants will probably use him as the goalline back anyway).

The Carolina defense was also an awesome pick, as was Doug Jolley.

I agree... your WRs are a bit iffy.  Your best guy (Bruce) is the #2 WR on his team.  You don't have a #1 guy in the bunch.  Unfortunately you don't have a lot of depth to make trades.

i know, i was too scared after the $75 for deuce to try for a bigger wr ($) - it seems the fun of the draft is to see who i want and drive me up...but fitz had 8 tds w/ mcown at the helm and i had ike last year (we get bonus points for yardage) and he helped me out for alot of the season - not so much on the td side...($18 for all three guys) - not alot of starters left but i escaped w/ $12 and i've always thought after the top 2-3, recievers are just flavor of the week...i can still upgrade when we see who's gonna nab a few key jobs - and who really is injured coming out of the pre-season...thanks for the words, mate...

And Doug Jolley has been demoted to second stringer in favor of Chris Baker on the Jets' Depth Chart.
