Let's add a post like this to your "unofficial" Colts Report thread (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=55;a ction=display;num=1126409492), sk!  Or, go ahead and start a "Colts In-season Report" thread!  ...  This is perhaps what we should do with other teams.  But, whatever,... I am willing to let this evolve until we have something "choate" (my own word derived from "inchoate"; I don't think any of the synonyms for the opposite of "inchoate" express this particular idea in this kind of situation better than my word "choate") and able to be standardized.

The bottom line is that these "2005 Offseason Reports" threads need to drop.  They are now, by definition, obsolete.

[offtopic]inchoate \in-KOH-it\, adjective:
1. In an initial or early stage; just begun.
2. Imperfectly formed or formulated

You take on a project because of the feeling, perhaps inchoate, that it may in some way contribute to your deeper understanding of the larger-scale research program you have chosen as your life's work.

Injuries piling up for Colts

June, Diem out for Seattle game; Sanders, Freeney may sit, too
A fractured bone in Marvin Harrison's right hand and Peyton Manning's swollen knee won't necessarily keep the Indianapolis Colts' prolific passing tandem out of Saturday's game at Seattle...........

Looks like a first look into the Colt crystal ball as to who is playing and who is not from here on out

My heart so goes out to Tony Dungy and his family...

[offtopic]I got to play [smiley=policeman.gif] here as news slowly starts to break regarding this tragic event.  I must admit that the girlfriend's 10-minute walk at 1:00 a.m., during which time James passed away, seems fishy in the least.  To me, preliminarily, that walk is indicative of one of two things:  1) a girl taking a walk to blow off some steam because of your typical hyper-emotional boyfriend-girlfriend argument/break up, during which time, in an emotionally immature state, James did in fact take his life as is being reported, or 2) a person taking a walk after "something bad", not a suicide, has happened in an effort to buy some time to figure out what to do.[/offtopic]

Well, it is official that Harrison will not play tomorrow:

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=/nfl/news/ABN3995391.htm

Good decision.  Rest him for the playoffs.  This is a campaign, not a single battle.

All prayers and consideration for Coach Dungy's family.

CBS Sportsline is reporting that EDGE will NOT play in Week 16 either.  Edge out, Harrison out, what do you think the odds are that Manning will play more than 25 plays?

I dont have a link yet, however I live in Indy and can tell you that the traffic refered to above was actually a swinging Knife. Mrs. Harper was hacking on Mr.(Wife Beater) Harper. She is in Jail. There have been multiple domestic problems at the Harper residents over the years.

Following up on sk's post, the article linked to above does mention that the traffic-accident claim was a cover(-up) story and makes reference to the domestic violence incident during which it was a knife wielded by his wife that did the damage to his knee.

Post edited to add this relevant piece in from off "The REAL Feed":

Does anybody (sk) think that anything is going to be made of Manning's waving the punt team off the field there late in yesterday's game?  I mean...  I know this is the great "Peyton Manning" here, and I know it worked and all, BUT that was a pretty blatant act of insubordination.  Dungy did not really look happy when Manning did it and looked only "awkwardly" pleased after it panned out.  Rumors?  Facts?  Thoughts?

I thought the same thing.  What I also found inetersting is the punt team listened to Manning and actually left the field.  While I like Manning, he isn't paid to make decsions like that.  That's Dungy's job.  I hope the Colts fine him heavily to remind him of that.   [smiley=twocents.gif]

Dungy in his press conference was asked about that. He said that he had already told Payton in his headset to go for it. I believe that is not true. I saw the look on his face. None of the press hacks took it any deeper.  ?.?.?

After the game that Armen Keteyian guy asked Dungy about it. Dungy smiled and said he was calling it out in Peyton's helmet and said something to the effect of the PUNT team being a little too ANXIOUS to get out on the field.

Edge believes he will not be a Colt after the Pro Bowl:

http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060203/SPORTS03/602030449/1004/SPORTS

I like this bit:

"James summarily dismissed the criticism that he's an old running back and a damaged one. He'll be 28 when the '06 season opens, and another year removed from the injury to his left knee that forced him to miss the final 10 games of the 2001 season."

If this isn't just free agent speak....
