If you want to talk about injuries, you have to talk to coach Cowher." Hines Ward, listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, tried to practice but then stopped. Linebacker James Farrior, probable with a back injury, did not practice. The Steelers' injury report remained the same yesterday as issued Tuesday by Cowher. Staley ready to go |

Title: Re: Steelers In-season Report Post by Callie on Jan 17th, 2006, 11:32am "The NFL admitted Monday that referee Pete Morelli was wrong to overturn an interception by Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu against the Colts on Sunday...." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0601170195jan17,1,887307.story?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed If it weren't for that missed field goal.... ------ And more: "Shortly after the game, Morelli offered the following explanation: 'I had the defender catching the ball. Before he got up, he hit it with his leg with his other leg still on the ground. He never had possession with his leg up off the ground, doing an act common to the game of football. . . . Therefore, he did not complete the catch.' Under league officiating procedure, an "act common to the game" is defined as controlling the ball long enough to hand it, pitch it or pass it. But Pereira noted that this definition only applies when there is "contact with a defensive player and the ball comes loose, which did not happen here.'
