Title: BIG Headline Infirmary: Pennington DONE for '05! Post by StegRock on Sep 27th, 2005, 7:31am From "The REAL Feed": Pennington, Spikes out for season; Warner, Bailey could miss time (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/wires/09/27/2020.ap.fbn.nfl.injuries.rdp.0805/index.html) SI.com: NFL (27.09.2005 04:39) Here's a piece from a LOCAL source for the Jets that's on "The REAL Feed": Chad's body of work too brittle for the NFL (http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/ny-spglaub274444867sep27,0,3635626.column?coll=ny-jets-print&track=rss) Newsday.com: New York Jets (27.09.2005 06:36) Three games into the season, and it is over for the Jets. It surely paints a pessimistic picture of Chad. :-/ |

Title: Re: BIG Headline Infirmary: Pennington DONE for ' Post by prm on Sep 27th, 2005, 7:52pm ;)...i think that's the best deal there is for them - not sayin' it still doesn't SUCK - but vinnie knows the deal there, knows the players, generally the scheme, and is best equipped to pick up the new stuff... gotta get down w/ h'dinger - but he's the best there is to get what they can get this year (which won't be much no matter WHO they put behind center)...for what it's worth... prm... |

Title: Re: BIG Headline Infirmary: Pennington DONE for ' Post by lumber2121 on Sep 28th, 2005, 9:08am I heard that Dr. James Andrews said that there MAY not be a year in the rotator cuff so Pennington MAY return this year. This information was on ESPN radio this morning. I have not heard much else at this point. Other options are probably a good idea. Even if Pennington comes back, his arm is going to be extremely weak. |

Title: Re: BIG Headline Infirmary: Pennington DONE for ' Post by StegRock on Sep 28th, 2005, 11:54am Yea, I heard that on ESPN SportCenter last night. Even if it's true, though, he's done. It's his play that hastened this MRI. For a quarterback, this injury is easily recurred. Even if he could come back before Week 17, they are probably best off just resting him for the season and as long as possible and giving him one more fresh try in '06. Otherwise, this could linger on and on and really ruin his career (assuming he has one to look forward to). |
