Title: Trade offered, reject, looking to counter
Post by lumber2121 on Sep 28th, 2005, 9:04am
I was offered Burress and Duckett if I gave up T. Jones and Lelie.  I did not like the trade and I would like to counter.  How does the following offer look?

I give up:
T. Jones, A. Lelie and either C. Cooley or J. Stevens

I get:
T..J. Duckett, P. Burress and A. Crumpler

This deal looks fair to me.  What do you think?  Does the make my team better.

My roster is in my singature.  Here is his roster

Green, Trent QB KC
Bell, Tatum RB DEN
Tomlinson, LaDainian RB SD
Burress, Plaxico WR NYG
Moss, Randy WR OAK
Crumpler, Alge TE ATL
Reed, Jeff K PIT
Buccaneers, DST DST TB
Brooks, Aaron QB NO
Bennett, Michael RB MIN
Duckett, T.J. RB ATL
Burleson, Nate WR MIN
El, Antwaan Randle WR PIT
Broncos, DST DST DEN

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK and 1 DST
standard yardage, no points for receptions.

looks fair to me, and it looks like it should help your team cuz you improve at te and wr

I like your counter offer

I doubt he'll want to give up Crumpler, but if he is really high [smiley=pedestal.gif] on Jones maybe he will!!!!

looks good to me.   Neither is pillaging the other in this deal.  Hopefully he'll see it that way too.

looks fair to me.  he should be somewhat desperate for a 2nd starting running back.  potentially the wr is a wash if lelie gets going and you improve at te.  hope it works out.

Looks fair...  You really could use help at wideout and Burress is probably not the answer,... but the combo of Burress and someone else of "comparable hope" could be.  Here's the little tweak I would make.  Throw at him RB (emphasize the whole "RB is more valuable than WR" thing) J.J. Arrington and try to get Randle El.  So, the deal ends up being:  Jones, Lelie, Arrington and Cooley or Stevens FOR Duckett, Burress, Randle El and Crumpler.  If he doesn't go with giving you Crumpler, to get the deal done, you can 1) just offer him both of those damn TE's (he's just living with Crumpler right now; what's good for the goose is good for the gander), 2) tell him he can keep Burress (you still get Crumpler, which is a MAJOR upgrade for you, and Randle El who isn't that much of a step down from Burress) OR 3) simply "scale it back" down to Jones, Lelie and Arrington for Duckett, Burress and Randle El.  Good luck, bro!
