Title: pick up Pittman or Davenport?
Post by lumber2121 on Oct 4th, 2005, 2:44pm
I am leaning towards Pittman.  I have the top waiver wire position and I am trying to amass some trade bait.  I will drop Chris Cooley to pick up Pittman.  Hopefully I can then trade some of my running backs to upgrade my team.

Pittman would be good for a week at best. Tampa's bye is in week 7. Pittman may get carries this week, but when the caddy has the oil changed and is set to go in two weeks, he will carry the ball 30 times a game. That doesnt leave much for pittman. I say take a pass on the buc.

[smiley=yes.gif]...pittman, i think the deal is (obviously) cadillac can't take the earl collins schedule chucky is layin' on him...even when the caddie's not in the shop [smiley=gettinridden.gif], i think pittman will see more action...and you could do worse than pittman, like...say...oh...jj arrington[smiley=gimmeabreak.gif], for example...
prm...

i agree that pittman would be good for this week and then maybe trade bait.  even with the cadillac back on the road, chucky has to like pittman in more situations than he was involved prior to last week.

pittman can be a heartbreaker in your lineup.  historically every time i needed him he would go silent.

[smiley=cheers.gif]good luck!

You should pick him up for just for the significant bump up in value from Cooley.  Furthermore, I agree with prm and rick.  Caddy's sore hammy is a wake-up call.  He's a rook and needs to be a little more eased into the professional game.  Even though I too think he'll be featured again once he's recovered, Pittman's role will probably be increased from what it had been.  And, you can't just ignore the fact that the injury could linger or recur.  Running backs with pulled hammies do have a way of sputtering... or even crashing and burning.
