Title: Bills In-season Report
Post by Callie on Oct 5th, 2005, 10:36pm
I couldn't find a Bills In-season Report, so I started one. If I missed one, I apologize.  But this is good.

Looks like Losman is out and Holcomb is in.  Keep watching.

http://www.rnews.com/Sports/TopSports_2004.cfm?cmd=top&ID=30948&rnews_story_type=39&category=3

The team is keeping mum, and Losman wasn't even available for comment (team decision).  The article implies that it could be a gametime revelation.  Coach lack-of-speech or a change hidden to keep MIA guessing?  ?.?.?

Don't know if you, my fellow fantasy footballers, whether keeper leaguers or not, should even care about this...  But, I feel it should be reported...  From "The REAL Feed":

Losman questionable with shoulder injury (http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=nfl/news/ABN3993865.htm)

Look who could be returning to the Bills...  From "The REAL Feed":

Wilson shakes up Bills, firing Donahoe, considering Levy as GM (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/01/04/2020.ap.fbn.bills.donahoe.fired.4th.ld.writethru.0723/index.html)
SI.com: NFL (04.01.2006 20:07)

GM Donahoe's failure in Buffalo really comes as a surprise given his successes of the past.

This is NOT a bunch of Mularkey,... or should I say, Mularkey's bunch,... [smiley=joker.gif] at least not anymore...  As it turns out, he's out...  Currently from atop "The REAL Feed":

Coach Mularkey submits resignation to Bills (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/01/12/2020.ap.fbn.bills.mularkey.3rd.ld.writethru.0712/index.html)

Sources said that, while family considerations played a large role in Mularkey's decision, his views on the future of the franchise were also a significant factor.

If you think outside the box could you possibly read the  new home of Terrell Owens into this statement?

Solid speculation there, sk! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

How about this development?  ...  From "The REAL Feed":

Mularkey resigns; Levy doesn't rule himself out as replacement (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/01/14/2020.ap.fbn.bills.mularkey.resigns.0705/index.html)

Team owner Ralph Wilson must REALLY be against the idea of Levy's giving it one more whack...  Currently atop "The REAL Feed":

Bills can interview Cowboys' Payton; Haslett favorite (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2292226&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (14.01.2006 12:48)
The Buffalo Bills received permission late Friday to interview Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Sean Payton, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Saturday.Bills defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and Detroit Lions interim coach Dick Jauron are in the mix but the favorite is Jim Haslett, the former ...

Levy is to release a statement soon pulling himself out of consideration.

Latest incomer...  From "The REAL Feed":

Bills interview Jauron (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/01/17/2020.ap.fbn.bills.jauron.1st.ld.writethru.0398/index.html)
SI.com: NFL (17.01.2006 20:30)

From interim head coach for a loser organization to straight-up head coach for a (traditionally) winning one...  Now that would be an upgrade!

I see this as a possible way for Levy to exert "head coaching" influence.  From "The REAL Feed":

Hall of Fame receiver Lofton interviews with Bills (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/01/19/2020.ap.fbn.bills.lofton.1st.ld.writethru.0401/index.html)
SI.com: NFL (19.01.2006 20:36)

I could definitely see Lofton, a former player of his, functioning as a mouthpiece for Levy as head-coach as much, if not more than as a head coach.

Interesting take.  Very possible.

Unfortunately, I see the Bills using Lofton to comply with the Rooney Rule.

Newbies R.ich and DM comin' onto "the Gridiron" holding nothing back and pulling no punches... [smiley=boxer.gif] Nice!  BUT, NOTHING over the top... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

DM, I saw your WELL-PLACED post regarding your league "between the 20's"! [smiley=bow.gif] Organization is something we take immense pride in here on "the Gridiron".  Thank you for taking the time to get that right!  That's definitely indicative of the kind of (quality of) people we want around here inhabiting our forum. [smiley=yes.gif] Good [smiley=shamrock.gif] luck with that!  I hope my site can be of assistance... if not now, in the long run.

In any event, I [smiley=welcome.gif] you both to the site.  I hope over time to come to know both of you, my fellow fantasy footballers. :)

Thanks bud :)

Rich is also from the Sim League and a Bills fan. Although hes married to a die-hard Steeler fan so his season wasnt a total loss.

IN all actuality I hated the DJ hire at first, but thus far I like his hirings and love the switch to Cover 2.

I am still a little skeptical but we shall see what happens in fa/draft time.
