Title: Cardinals In-season Report Post by StegRock on Oct 6th, 2005, 2:04am A QB controversy is officially brewing... and being welcomed by the leader of the flock down in the desert... :o From "The REAL Feed": Another good performance could move McCown ahead of Warner (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/wires/10/05/2020.ap.fbn.cardinals.mccown.0624/index.html) SI.com: NFL (05.10.2005 21:24) |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by StegRock on Oct 12th, 2005, 7:39pm Here we go, again... From "The REAL Feed": Warner back at practice, could face another benching (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/wires/10/12/2020.ap.fbn.cardinals.qbs.0535/index.html) SI.com: NFL (12.10.2005 18:42) The bottom line is that McCown has to WIN to keep the job. Unfortunately, for us fantasy footballers, it's not about stats. |

Title: Boldin probably Gone for the Year Post by DirkDiggler on Oct 30th, 2005, 6:38pm Boldin is probably history with the exact same injury as last year. A torn meniscus. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/wires/10/30/2020.ap.fbn.cardinals.boldin.1st.ld.writethru.0257/index.html |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by lumber2121 on Nov 2nd, 2005, 11:37am i think Fitzgerald's value will go up slightly. The Cards certainly cannot run the ball so they will have to try to find Fitzgerald as much as possible. Bryant Johnson is slated to fill in as the slot receiver. Boldin Out 2-4 Weeks Link: http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/1102cards1102.html Excerpt: Team doctors told Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin that he could be out 2-4 weeks with a deep bone bruise in his right knee. Boldin used the word "pleased" to describe the way he felt when he learned the results from a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his knee didn't contain the word "torn." Torn knee ligaments could have ended his season. "Just hearing the word 'bruise' was a sigh of relief," Boldin said Tuesday while signing autographs and meeting fans at a new Alltel store in Mesa. "Like I said before, I didn't think I tore anything. But you never know with a knee. (The current injury) doesn't require surgery. All it takes is for me to stay off of it a little bit." |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by StegRock on Nov 2nd, 2005, 10:11pm Also,... factor in... from "The REAL Feed": Green goes back to Warner as starting quarterback (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/wires/11/02/2020.ap.fbn.cardinals.warner.0552/index.html) SI.com: NFL (02.11.2005 20:34) |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by StegRock on Nov 24th, 2005, 1:19am Worth reporting, or should I just say, mentioning "I suppose" for DEEEEEP keeper-leaguers... From "The REAL Feed": Warner shows he still can play, but nothing promised after season (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/wires/11/23/2020.ap.fbn.cardinals.warner.0600/index.html) SI.com: NFL (23.11.2005 19:39) |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by Callie on Dec 1st, 2005, 6:36pm Neil Rackers hurt: "Rackers left the Cardinals' practice facilities on crutches Thursday after injuring his left calf in practice earlier in the day. The kicker will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage, but he's expected to miss at least one game. The team will bring in possible replacements on Friday." http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5198/news Figure another option in Week 13, at least! :o |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by StegRock on Dec 19th, 2005, 2:26pm From "The REAL Feed": Warner's season over after suffering MCL injury (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2264835&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines) ESPN: NFL (19.12.2005 00:42) Warner's season over after suffering MCL injury by Len PasquarelliTwo-time league most valuable player Kurt Warner will miss the final two games of the season with a right knee injury, leaving his future with the Arizona Cardinals uncertain, and the team's quarterback situation beyond this year ... The real question... Should that headline perhaps read, "Warner's career over after suffering MCL injury"? |

Title: Re: Cardinals In-season Report Post by StegRock on Dec 21st, 2005, 7:12pm Just in case you were thinking that QB John Navarre would be the starter this week for the Cardinals based on the statistics of last week's game, he is not. McCown was ill with the flu last Sunday. That is what prevented him from staying in the game. From LOCAL sources available on "the Gridiron Newsstand": "Future in doubt, McCown gets final starts (http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=55550)" "McCown back at starter as days with Arizona near end (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/1221mccown-ON.html)" BUT, this is not to say that Navarre is not a good pick-up in deep keeper leagues with McCown likely heading out and Warner's future a bit uncertain, as well. I actually think he's probably a better get than McCown, who I think has little chance of finding (foreseeable, at any rate) success in the NFL. There's at least a way to success for Navarre that can be discerned. Whether or not it comes to fruition (probably not) is another story. |
