Ahman Green out for the season.  I've even read that the rumor is that the injury could be career-ending!

Ferguson out, too.  I read Ferguson was out indefinately, but I would watch to see if it is worse (meaning if he won't come back this year at all).

If Ahman Green can't return from this injury, you know who I think ends up in Green Bay... as he fits the system to a T...  Thomas Jones!!! [smiley=ohshit.gif] ... [smiley=yes.gif]

T. Jones could definitely do some damage in Green Bay.  The questions are what Chicago would ask for him and whether the Bears would want to keep Jones at least for one more year to take some pressure off of Benson.

I am not sure of Jones' contract status.  Does anyone know when it ends?

"Jones signed a four-year contract with the Bears on March 3, 2004. The deal is worth approximately $10 million and includes a signing bonus of about $3.5 million, according to ESPN.com."

His contract expires in 2007.

Fisher Has Laser Eye Surgery - Expects to Play

Link:
http://www.jsonline.com/packer/news/oct05/366089.asp

Excerpt:
Tony Fisher was on the sidelines at practice Wednesday a day after undergoing laser surgery to repair what he described as small holes in the retina of his eye. Against Minnesota Sunday, Fisher got poked in the eye while busting up a wedge on kickoff coverage and during an eye examination discovered he had suffered damage to the retina.

"It got stretched and it created like holes,"; Fisher said. "I went in as a precaution and they brought in a specialist and he said there were some holes in there. I was like;Cool, let's fix it next week; I'm not worried about it right now."

The ophthalmologist told Fisher it was best to take care of it right now because if he further injured it the retina could become detached and he would need season-ending surgery. So he underwent a laser procedure and was out of the office within a couple of hours.

Bummer end to a great, SO UNLIKELY '05 "run", quite literally...  From "The REAL Feed":

Knee injury ends season for Packers rookie RB Gado (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2267675&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (21.12.2005 14:54)
Knee injury ends season for Packers rookie RB Gado by SportsTickerGREEN BAY, Wis. -- Rookie running back Samkon Gado, the lone bright spot in a disastrous season for the Green Bay Packers, will miss the team's last two games with a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.Gado was injur...

The silver lining,... a torn MCL should not hinder him going into '06,... that is "assuming he is (going to be) a long-term NFL-caliber tailback".

Regarding Head Coach Mike Sherman's tenure,... from "The REAL Feed":

Packers' Sherman doesn't know his fate (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/01/01/2020.ap.fbn.packers.sherman.s.future.0473/index.html)

Yous think he'll survive to '06???

Okay,... a decision is in... on "The REAL Feed":

Pack it up! Green Bay fires Sherman (http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=nfl/news/ABN3996702.htm)
The Sports Network: NFL (02.01.2006 12:16)

Feel bad for the guy, but, like the firing of Tice, I think this was the right move.

The search for a head coach leads the Pack to the son of a Bum...  Currently from atop "The REAL Feed":

Chargers' Phillips will interview with Packers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/GB/9143660)
NFL.com (04.01.2006 23:15)

This would be a BAD decision.  I, a diehard Donkos fan, [smiley=broncofan.gif] know.  This guy is NOT NFL head-coach material.  As for his head-coaching ability, he's more a Bum than his father. ;) Mind you, Bum was not a Bum when it came to head coaching.  He was the real deal.  ...  But, if the Packers make his sonny boy their head coach, they might as well change their name to the Fudge Packers because they'll be taking it right up the Bum.
