Title: WR Waiver Wire Help Post by MordecaiCourage on Oct 6th, 2005, 6:48pm Need to find me a good Week 5 WR Help...I've got DJax and Engram out....Burress on bye.....Horn questionable...and J Smith as my only healthy starter. I have room on my roster for 1 or 2 guys here. Rate them and I will possibly pick the top 2 up. [smiley=idontknow.gif] Brandon Jones...I heard he took Calico's spot and against Houston maybe he will do well! Shaun MacDonald.... Bulger threw 62 passes last week and he caught alot of those!! Antonio Bryant.......Quietly putting up 60-80 yds, could score?? Eric Moulds....Maybe Holcomb will use him and his fortunes will change! Greg Lewis.....pecking order there is T.O., Westbrook, LJ, then Lewis [smiley=strollin.gif] C'mon GURU's work me some M...A...G...I...C[smiley=hellhound.gif] |

Title: Re: WR Waiver Wire Help Post by lumber2121 on Oct 6th, 2005, 9:17pm I would go with Bryant#1 and McDonald#2 and Brandon Jones a close #3. Apparently the Titans are looking to air the ball out a bit more. Something like 60% of McNair's passes were to TEs and RBs last week. They are trying to change this. |

Title: Re: WR Waiver Wire Help Post by StegRock on Oct 6th, 2005, 10:06pm I don't like any of them very much. Of them, Moulds could be a good pick-up with Holcomb now the starter in Buffalo; Antonio Bryant would probably be my second choice, and I see some hope for Lewis. The other two are strictly "long shots to show". Good luck! [smiley=shamrock.gif] |

I don't like any of them either...but my guys are broken [smiley=stars.gif] or off this week and I can't just lay down. I do want to try Moulds I think....who knows maybe Holcomb will favor him. |

Title: Re: WR Waiver Wire Help Post by tm20 on Oct 7th, 2005, 11:20am I have both Moss and Plex on bye this week so you're not alone in figuring out who to start for WR this week. Greg Lewis just does not appeal to me even though Dallas D has been struggling. His receptions depend too much on being the last resort...not really what I want to be starting I think Mcdonald and Bryant will be more solid and will get you some sure receptions and yardage. They are both facing pass defenses that are top 10 though, and Mcdonald has to compete with just about every player eligible for a pass on the Rams. It sounds like you want to take a chance with Moulds. I think its more of a gamble than your other options. If you think you might not need every single point in your matchup this week (althought that is unlikely), it could be worth a slight shot as he may grab a td this week against a somewhat weak Miami pass D. I personally would go with Bryant as he sees the most activity in his team's offense. Hes due for a td and should put up a decent week. Let us know who you go with. |

I picked up Moulds this morning. I just have a feeling about him and Holcomb. But I still have room on my roster for either Bryant or MacDonald...leaning toward Mac for the shear # of passes Bulger throws. [smiley=footballsmiley.gif] I appreciate your response [smiley=thumbsup.gif] |

Title: Re: WR Waiver Wire Help Post by MordecaiCourage on Oct 9th, 2005, 10:10am Picked up Bryant this morning when I heard Horn was out. Sucks... but he was basically the only guy left that I knew would see some [smiley=footballsmiley.gif]'s thrown his way. To go from Burress, Horn, and DJax as your starters to J. Smith, Moulds, and Bryant SUCKS root!! [smiley=no.gif] [smiley=annoyed.gif] Might as well just beat me with a chair![smiley=chair.gif] |

Title: Re: WR Waiver Wire Help Post by Referee on Oct 12th, 2005, 4:09pm [offtopic]MC, thanks for the note of apology. [smiley=bow.gif] I truly appreciate the attitude... or lack of attitude... if you follow,... if I follow... [smiley=dunce.gif] ... ;) BUT, you and rick are good to go here. Ultimately, as long as the thread is ORIGINALLY properly placed according to the respective message-board descriptions, conversations are allowed to flow freely from there. If somehow eventually (hopefully not too quickly or too often), an advice question asking about which Smith, Rod or Jimmy, to start this week at WR leads to a (fun) conversation about what people had for dinner last night (a conversation by way of which people can get to know one another better and further forge friendships, onomatopoeia aside), [smiley=joker.gif] GREAT!!! We just want threads to get started off right... so as to make the site organized and more easily navigable and enjoyable. ... Here are a couple further helpful tips... 1) If a tangent goes on for too long and keeps bumping up an old, out-dated thread, based on its original topic, you may, out of respect for all the other members who are not participating in your little tay-to-tay, want to take your (FF-UNrelated) conversation to "the Bleachers" (sticky thread) on "the Sidelines": http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;action=display;num=1099666483. 2) A GREAT feature we have on "the Gridiron" to help members easily separate out off-(the original)topic comments and talk from the meat of a thread is this little "Off-topic"/"I digress..." smiley that I'm using right here right now. On the "Start new topic" or "Post reply" pages, the ones on which you type your messages, all you do is, of the smilies displayed in a row above the text-box in which you type your message, click the smiley all the way to the right AND THEN just simply type betwixt the two pieces of UBB code (which indicate: start "offtopic" and end "offtopic", just like the UBB code for, e.g., bold, italics, underline, etc.). ENJOY!!! [smiley=lickinmychops.gif][/offtopic] |
