excerpt
Darrell Jackson underwent surgery on Wednesday in Miami, and his recovery time could be affected by two things were discovered during the arthroscopic procedure.

One, the lateral meniscus tear was worse than anticipated. Doctor John Uribe, the renowned orthopedist who performed the surgery, found a large flap of cartilage that had rolled underneath.

Two, there was a second injury found during the surgery, a loose flap of articular cartilage.

The estimate of a four- to six-week recovery period does not necessarily change though initial indications are it could be more like six weeks as opposed to four. Obviously, there's concern since the injury was worse than anticipated, but it is consistent with the pain Jackson was feeling while making cuts.
