Title: Willie Parker worth a start?
Post by Chumpzilla on Oct 13th, 2005, 10:00pm
I know everyone started high on this kid but the last two starts he hasn't done much.  I need a RB to cover a bye and he was offered to me (for Aaron Brooks).

If I don't take him I would have to try and grab Antowain Smith, Aaron Stecker, Taylor Thompson, or Chris Perry of waivers for one week.  Like any of these guys better?  :-/

You get .25 pts per rush, 1 pt per 25 yards rushing/rec, .5 pts per catch and 6 pts per TD.

QB's get similar pts plus .5 pt per completion but get negatives for sacks and ints.

My starting QB is Bulger but I can start Brooks in a flex.

Should I take Parker or hold Brooks and go for one of the FA's? ?.?.?

Would you drop Brooks for a free-agent?  Assuming you have a player worse than Brooks to drop, I'd just pick up Perry.  BUT, I currently do like Parker a bit more than Perry as I explain on this thread:  http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=55;action=display;num=1129070579.  If you could get Parker and a little sweetener for Brooks, then I'd probably do it.  I ultimately do think that Brooks is on his way down... and OUT, so... getting rid of him wouldn't be a bad idea.  Good luck! With Batch getting the nod for the Steelers...it will be all about the RUN this week. 20+ touches is not out of the question for Parker here. Of course if you want the TD, you better hope he gets it from outside the 10 yard line!! As for Brooks...drop his sorry butt if you can't trade him away. [smiley=fireman.gif]

Thompson is a good option if you are just looking for someone to fill a gap for this week.

Parker should put up decent numbers.  Brooks is so inconsistent that it is tough to rely on him.

Trade for Parker.  He has much more upside than Brooks.

If you go the waiver wire route, I like Tyson Thompson this week over the Saints' guys.  This is said even though Parcells is being coy with the press about who is going to get the bulk of the carries.

This is a tough, tough, tough match up for the Steelers this week. This will be very physical. Bettis will do alot of work against the Jag defense. I do not like Parker this week.
