Title: Flex Spot...tough call Post by tm20 on Oct 27th, 2005, 1:37pm I'm starting Westbrook and Ronnie Brown for my 2 RBS. That leaves me with one flex spot. Who should I start out of these 4? Branch Kurtis Mewelde Marion Barber Even though Branch, Kurtis and Mewelde should be worthy of a flex spot...I am actually leaning towards starting Marion Barber |

Title: Re: Flex Spot...tough call Post by StegRock on Oct 27th, 2005, 2:13pm With Holt likely out and Bruce too probably, I'd go with Curtis over the rest by quite a bit. Branch would be my second choice. Mewelde has a tough matchup. And, who knows what the hell Dallas is doing with their backfield? Good luck! [smiley=shamrock.gif] |

Title: Re: Flex Spot...tough call Post by captainpurple on Oct 27th, 2005, 2:53pm AZ isn't too bad vs. the run, allowing barely over 100/gm. I'd sit Barber. Buffalo is tops in the NFL vs. the pass, so I'd sit Branch too. So between Mewelde & Kurtis, I'd take Kurtis. He's going to be a huge part of the offense. MeMo and the Vikes will probably be playing from behind, limiting MeMo's chances. Plus, Moore still hasn't found the endzone on the ground. Go with Kurtis. |

Title: Re: Flex Spot...tough call Post by Callie on Oct 27th, 2005, 7:52pm Wow, that is a tough call. I agree with what the other guys have said. Bad match-ups all the way around and big question marks for the RBs - as in will either one of them get anything. The only thing I could add is that, especially if Dillon is limited, Branch may have the best chance at a score. Last week I was afraid to play Curtis (and I should have), but I still have no idea where things will go for STL. Like they say, Martz put a system in place before he had to bow out, and it's still there. But - the Jags' secondary is ranked 2nd right now, and the Jags' D is hot & rested. Also, Jamie Martin should play again, and Curtis should draw a whole lot of coverage. So - based on all of this. Who knows? ?.?.? I guess I would have to lean toward Branch purely on the fact that Branch has more elsewhere on the field drawing coverage. And he has Tom Brady instead of Jamie Martin. |

Title: Re: Flex Spot...tough call Post by rickgpin on Oct 27th, 2005, 8:36pm i will admit i am biased right off the bat....but the only concern for curtis is that he will be the #1 receiver and may be double covered. but over 70 yds per game with 3 tds in the last 4 weeks. also was open on a post (sure td) and was tackled last week. i like branch's matchup better, but is averaging 70 yds per game with no tds over the past the past 4 weeks. good luck with your decision! Title: Re: Flex Spot...tough call Post by lumber2121 on Oct 28th, 2005, 10:23am Go with Mewelde Moore. Even if the Vikes are behind he will get some yards. He is a very good pass catcher. Also, I believe that each week Moore does not score a rushing touchdown the more likely he is to score one. I know that this sounds rediculous. However, if a guy consistently gets around 100 multi-purpose yards one of those yards will eventually lead him to the endzone. Moore should get around 90 to 100 total yards and there is a chance he will get in the endzone. Branch could put up good numbers. However the Patriots will probably run wild on the Bills. The Pats will not have much need to go to the air. Curtis could see more double coverage, as previously mentioned. |

Title: Re: Flex Spot...tough call Post by MordecaiCourage on Oct 28th, 2005, 11:51am I'd go with Moore. [smiley=yes.gif] As a rule, unless the WR is a super stud [smiley=pimpin.gif], I think you should always go with the RB in the flex!! The RB generally will get more touches and he will give you more chances in the red zone. For instance, it is first and goal on the 1 yard line...most teams will try to run it in at least twice. If they don't make it he still has a chance to receive the TD toss on 3rd or 4th down (considering the circumstances of course!) [smiley=fireman.gif] |

Very Well Put MC!! I usually go with a RB 90% of the time in my flex spot. If you have ANY #1 RB available for a flex, put him in. Unless (like MC said) its a super stud WR. At worst, he'll probably get 5-7 pts. which is a descent outing for a flex player. the Bill's pass defense is pretty good this year, and Dillon is getting called old for the last couple weeks. So, I'm sure he's gonna be wanting to shut the nay sayers up for awhile. Stick with Moore [smiley=pirate.gif] O4L |
