Title: Playing against the Steelers tonight
Post by lumber2121 on Oct 31st, 2005, 9:55am
I just thought I would share my odd situation.  I am up 95 to 23 in my game this week.  That is the good news. The bad news is that the team I am playing has Ben Roethlisberger, Willie Parker, Hines Ward, Heath Miller, Jeff Reed and the Steelers defense all going tonight.

I am happy with my total points, but I am not happy that he basically has the Steelers againt the Ravens.  Someone one that team will put up some big numbers.  I just hope the numbers are not too big.

What do you think of my chances?  Do you think the Steelers will crush the Ravens?

You are probably safe......but don't hold your breath. ;D I guess it all depends on your scoring system and if Baltimore's D shows up or not!! [smiley=shrug.gif] Anyway good luck with that [smiley=shamrock.gif]

I'd also say you are pretty safe.  Roethlisburger has never produced a large number of points, and Baltimore's D is usually pretty solid.  The only thing I would be worried about is Pitts' D.

I would be willing to bet they get at least 4 sacks 2 int's, and 2 FF.  Which, depending on your points for the D could end up with at least 20 pts.

Your lead is lookn pretty safe.  So, I say, crack a beer, and enjoy the halloween MNF and make sure to scare as many kids as you can. Because you know they will be knocking on the door the minute they hike the ball with :25 secs left in the half and its 3rd and 15 ;D ( Depending on if you live on the West Coast or not)

The worst thing about this scenario is that I like to root of the Steelers.

I am a big Bills fan, but my brother and two close friends are huge Steelers fans.   Thus, when the Bills are not affected, I like to see the Steelers do well.  Tonight, I guess I will have to root for Randle El, Jerome Bettis, and others to pull the weight.  I would like to see the Steelers win 10-0 with Bettis scoring the sole touchdown on the ground.

Fortunately, I will not have to worry about trick-or-treaters as I live in Western New York.

my bet is your safe unless the ravens just lay down.  how is the team with all the steelers doing in your league.  i have never seen any team so weighted toward just one nfl team.

it's raining in the midwest per usual for halloween so i am betting the trick or treaters will be soggy and wanting to go home by kickoff.

good luck.

The team's record is now 1-7.  He started off 1-5 with a good mix of players.  At that point, he traded for as many Steelers as possible.  While this move has not netted any wins over the last two weeks, it has not hurt his scoring.  He put up 87 points this week and 76 points last week. Eighty points in our league is the point where you have a good chance of winning.

He came close to beating me and I had one of the highest point totals this week.

It you have a bunch of guys on a team that is as good as the Steelers, I think you have a chance to win each week.  You limit your upside potential, but you have a shot to put up pretty consistent numbers.

It is very weird.  Then again, the owners dog is named after Art Rooney (i.e. Rooney).  Also the owner used to have a yellow lab and a black lab to match the Steelers colors and his son went as Tommy Maddox for Halloween.  He is arguably the biggest Steelers fan in the land.

He season is shot, so he loaded his team with Steelers.  At least he is not a Bills fan.  A fantasy team loaded with Bills would throw off the competitive balance in the league.  Holcomb and Mark Campbell would not lead a lot of teams to victory.
