Title: Re: take a flyer on gado??? Post by DB on Nov 14th, 2005, 9:14pm uhh, YES. He sold me last week with 60 yards and 1 TD. With 100 yards and 3 TDs this week, what are you waiting for? Green and Davenport aren't coming back and I think he successfully beat out Fisher. While I wouldn't start him over a healthy Tiki or Davis, he would be a great backup for you ... better than A. Smith IMO. |

Title: Re: take a flyer on gado??? Post by MordecaiCourage on Nov 14th, 2005, 9:38pm Read my Packer specific report from Thursday of this past week. I had suggested that Gado was worth taking a flyer on!! ;)[smiley=cheesehead.gif] http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/packers/packers-footballinfoframes.htm |

Title: Re: take a flyer on gado??? Post by lumber2121 on Nov 15th, 2005, 10:17am Grab him if he is still available. I am one of the numerous owners who is kicking himself for not taking a waiver wire gamble last week. |

Title: Re: take a flyer on gado??? Post by StegRock on Nov 26th, 2005, 4:37pm I've been bogged down with schoolwork and wasn't able to respond to this as thoroughly as I would have liked a week or two ago. Now, saying what I am going to say is going to seem a bit "after the fact", but not totally and, in any event, now is when I have time to post it. ... While the story of Samkon Gado is surely a GREAT one and the future of Ahman Green is definitely in doubt, Gado is NOT the future at tailback in Green Bay or anywhere in the NFL. I did not see him play last week, but I did see him play the two prior weeks when he "did well." Though he surely got the job done WAY better than you'd expect ANY free-agent rookie running back who was a third-string tailback at division three Liberty University, and whose exposure to American football as a Nigerian had to have come relatively late in the ballgame, so to speak, if you can "(make your) read(s) between the lines", you would have seen a guy who really lacked any "burst" coming out of the backfield/through the hole and who wasn't that tough of an inside runner. He does have good size and GREAT speed for his size, but being a long-term NFL tailback takes much more than those physical gifts. Mind you, he was a great stop-gap pick-up and he might just find his niche in the NFL and even in Green Bay, but don't delude yourself, especially if you are a deep keeper leaguer, into thinking this guy really has a bright fantasy football future. |

Title: Re: take a flyer on gado??? Post by MordecaiCourage on Nov 28th, 2005, 7:29pm True enough Steg.......BUT he did hang another C note and a TD this week!! There are many 1st stringers who have NOT done that even once this year. With as much fanfare as he has received as of late , the word "overated" has come up alot in the media and is implied (even if just a bit and under the "keeper" pretense) here in your statement. Dare I say he is underated!! Yes I dare. He can be, and has been a viable option as a fantasy starter. Look up his total fantasy points since his first game and match them up against any other starting RB whose last name doesn't rhyme with "Palexander" or "Bomblinson", and you'll see what I'm seeing. Just gotta believe bro. (not just speaking as a fan of the Pack and BTW this is not a challenge my man...just my opinion) ;D [smiley=fireman.gif] |
