Title: Line up help needed-BIG win
Post by janetluez on Dec 1st, 2005, 9:20pm
Hello..

I came from last place to being tied for first place and I really need this win.

I am starting two qb's this week.

I already know I am starting Brady and my other two options are as follows

Brooks vs Tampa

Roethlisberger vs Cincy

Now I can opt out and not put in a second qb and put in another WR which would mean putting in Rod Smith vs KC in place of one of the qb's

My scoring is as follows

1 pt per 10 rush/rec
1 pt per 20 passing
4 pts per passing td
6 pts per rushing td

Right now this is wha  MY  line up looks like

Brady, Tom QB NE vs NYJ
Brooks, Aaron QB NO vs TB
James, Edgerrin RB IND vs TEN
Lewis, Jamal RB BAL vs HOU
Branch, Deion WR NE NYJ
Harrison, Marvin WR IND vs TEN
Moss, Santana WR WAS vs STL
Tynes, Lawrence K KC vs DEN
Vikings, DST DST MIN

On  MY  bench is

Big Ben at qb

Rod Smith at wr

OPPONENTS LINE UP

Brees, Drew QB SD OAK
Manning, Peyton QB IND TEN
Barber, Tiki RB NYG DAL
Brown, Chris RB TEN @IND
Droughns, Reuben RB CLE
Galloway, Joey WR TB @NO
Muhammad, Muhsin WR CHI GB
Feely, Jay K NYG DAL
Broncos, DST DST DEN @KC

On OPPONENTS bench are:

Plummer, Jake QB DEN @KC
Staley, Duce RB PIT CIN
Burleson, Nate WR MIN @DET
Horn, Joe WR NO TB
Chiefs, DST DST KC DEN
Benson, Cedric RB CHI GB

Any thoughts on who I should start, on my line up, on his line up, on the match up, on anything?  Do I have a shot at winning?

Thanks

Janet

I'm not sold on Brooks. Tampa's defense is tough against the pass! I believe they're 3rd in the NFL, they've only given up 8 TD's in the air and they've picked off opposing QB's 10 times! Tampa only gives up an average of 173 yds per game thru the air. And Brooks has thrown more INT's than TD's!
I might be more tempted to go with Big Ben against Cincy's "middle-of-the-road" pass defense! Just my opinion...

I agree with DUKE's assessment of Brooks.  From there, I would go with Roethlisberger in a heartbeat over Smith.  Good luck! [smiley=shamrock.gif]

i'd consider starting rod smith over big ben.  Ben is still gettting back to game shape, and KC can be had vs. the pass.  Smith is a better start IMO.

keep in mind brooks has good history vs. the bucs and usually puts up good numbers.  Ive heard big ben has a bad thumb that is causing him problems..

id wait till sunday if you can and check the weather reports before making a final decision..

i like brooks over big ben.  rod smith will score some points but probably not at the level of a qb in your scoring scheme. [smiley=cheers.gif]

Roslispittsburgher is at home. Hes not playing Tampa Bay who needs the win badly.  Brooks is not having much of a year. Ask Joe Horn owners

gamble and play Big Ben and then laugh at him when he realizes Chris Brown is out for this week...

I read on cbs sportsline that Pittsburgh is expected to run the ball FAR more than pass like they did against Indy.  Anyone agree still with that, to start Ben over Brady?

I would start Smith.  I think this game is  gonna be a shoot-out.  Also, watch the weather in Pitt.  As mentionaed above, Pitt may try to grind it out on the ground.
