10 team redraft league...no points for rec...1 for 10 rush/rec...1 for 20 passing...6 for all td's

qb, 2rb, 2wr, flex, k d

The guy with Peyton wants Plummer/MBennett/Rickey Williams and Shockey.

Seems like too much to me for what is probably going to be only one game and it is against a very good defense.

I am hoping to start Garrard in weeks 15, 16 and 17

Should I trade all those guys for Manning

If I did it, I would start Peyton, DDavis, Portis, FTaylor, AJohnson, Chambers

my roster:

K Collins
J Plummer
D Garrard
M Tuiasosopo

T.J. Duckett
C Portis
R Williams
A Pinner
D Davis
D Staley
M Bennett
F Taylor

C Chambers
D Bennett
D Driver
M Muhammad
A Johnson

J Shockey

J Scobee
R Bironas

D Colts
D Giants

No way!   [smiley=jawdroppin.gif]  That will leave you with a huge hole at QB if Indy starts sitting their starters.  You're also losing depth at RB and one of the best TE's in the league.  I would not do it.   [smiley=no.gif]

I would not do it either. Peyton is great, but there is much uncertainty in INDY right now...Rest or Play issues from Coach Dungy will be the big question throughout the rest of the season.!! ;)

I have a different take. (I'd like to know where you are at in the standings) When you really look at this, unless you get hit with some injuries, all you are really giving up is Plummer. At this point you are probably not going to start Williams or Bennent anyway. Shockey is kinda tough to part with, but get him to toss in a reciever replacement and go for it.
Look at it this way. Even if Dungy rests the starters, they will still play at least half. Payton can kill a team in 2 quarters. He will put halftime numbers up better than most other QB's entire games. Also, There is no way Payton will sit out weeks 15, 16, 17. No Way.

[smiley=welcome.gif] Welcome to the Gridiron, joeyemma!!!  [smiley=welcome.gif]

The real trade here, like steelkings said, is Manning for Plummer and Shockey.

If it will keep you going into the playoffs, Manning is the way to go.  Like you've already heard, though, the Colts could sit Manning some of the time the rest of the way to save him for the playoffs.  Still, they must want that undefeated season!  Of Manning, Plummer and Garrard, Manning is the best QB option the rest of the way.  It won't help you much to hang on to Plummer and Shockey if you're holding them after you've been eliminated.  And Plummer and Garrard are not great plays this week.

I also agree that you should try for a more favorable trade, if you can get it at this late date.  You could definitely use some help at WR.

Good Luck!!!

Well, while, while I actually think that Plummer is going to be a surprisingly decent play this week and has become quite a solid NFL quarterback, he has overall been a fantasy dud, and I do think the trade ultimately boils down to Manning for Plummer and Shockey, I do think you have to consider overall value, especially if this is a (deep) keeper league (is it?  ...  not that I here in HI will likely be able to respond here before kickoff tomorrow, but...).  However, like sk and Callie, I think its a deal you HAVE GOT to find a way of doing.  I say counter with just Plummer, Bennett and Williams for Manning.  If he doesn't bite, add Andre Johnson into the mix.  If he ultimately insists on the original deal as you've stated it, try to get a little something back.  It's a four-for-one deal.  He's going to have to cut three players from his roster to make room.  Use that reality to your advantage.  AND,... most of all,...

...[smiley=stpat.gif] Good [smiley=shammy.gif] luck [smiley=shamrock.gif] and [smiley=welcome.gif] to "the Gridiron", friend!  Come on around and join in the dialogue as often as you can, brother...
