Title: RB Help - Tied for first place
Post by janetluez on Dec 30th, 2005, 2:16pm
Hi

I am in a performance league and am in the playoffs tied for first.  My line up is ok, except at running back.

Scoring is as follows:

Passing 1 pt per 20 yards                    passing td 4 pts
Rush/Rec. 1 pt per 10 yards                    rush/rec. td 6 pts

My current line up is:  [/b]
Brady, Tom QB NE          MIA

Roethlisberger, Ben QB PIT          DET

James, Edgerrin RB IND      ARI    [b]

Lewis, Jamal RB BAL        @CLE    You never know with this guy?

Branch, Deion WR NE        MIA

Moss, Santana WR WAS      @PHI

Smith, Rod WR DEN                     @SD

Tynes, Lawrence K KC      CIN

Vikings, DST DST MIN        CHI

On MY bench:

Brooks, Aaron QB NO      @TB

Bennett, Michael RB MIN        CHI      [b][/b]

Fisher, Tony RB GB        SEA   I have no clue

Harrison, Marvin WR IND          ARI

Moulds, Eric WR BUF                    @NYJ

Longwell, Ryan K GB        SEA

Browns, DST DST CLE      BAL

OPPONENTS current line up

Collins, Kerry QB OAK      NYG

Foster, DeShaun RB CAR          @ATL

Parker, Willie RB PIT        DET

Wells, Jonathan RB HOU          @SF

Holt, Torry WR    STL      @DAL

Smith, Steve WR CAR      @ATL

Brown, Josh K SEA                      @GB

Falcons, DST DST ATL      CAR

Lions, DST DST DET                      @PIT

On OPPONENTS bench

Davis, Domanick RB HOU        @SF
Perry, Chris RB CIN          @KC
Mason, Derrick WR BAL        @CLE
McNabb, Donovan QB PHI        WAS

Should I make any changes to my line up?  Do I have a decent chance at winning???

Thanks

My only (possible) suggestion,... I might consider going with Moulds over R. Smith or Branch.  I think Rod is the guy you should pull.  With the revolving-door approach to running backs of Shanahan's and Jake's having become more of a game manager than a gun slinger, I, and I am saying this as a Broncomaniac, [smiley=broncofan.gif] do not think there is any single player,... bachelor that is, that would like to style you, Janet, one of our Double G's, Gorgeous Gridironettes, with some rock-solid fantasy action :-* here Week 17 than good old Rod,... [smiley=joker.gif] [smiley=rollinwithlaughter.gif] but, seriously, on the other hand, I also do not think there is any single player, any one player that is, ;) that means more to the Broncos offense than Rod Smith.  He is what makes their whole passing game click.  As such, I expect Shanahan to give him little PT in this week's meaningless game, preserving him for their playoff run.  I think this is way more the case than it is for Branch and the Patriots, so I would play Moulds over Smith.

Good luck! [smiley=shamrock.gif] And, finally, please consider giving just a little back to help keep the site FREE... from both membership fees and an annoying deluge of ads... :) Click the link below:

tough one, but I have to agree wth Steg on the moulds move.  i don't like to see Moulds on the bench with Holcomb starting.  the two are totally clicking.

do you have a shot?   of course!   boomer accent:that's why they play the games!

but you're definitely the underdog.  edge will play little, and Steve Smith could cancel out 2 of your WRs easy.  I think  you'll need a BIG day from Lewis, and a BIGGER day from your QB.

Who is your QB BTW?   See 2 are bolded.   I'm assuming you're going with Brady?  Check the weather.  if there's wind, I wouldn't be afraid to go with Big Ben vs. a terrible Lions team.

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for your info.  In my league we start two qb's (one of which is a flex position), 2 rb's, 3 wr's, 1 pk, and 1 def.  That is the typical line up.

I am trying to pick up Dominick Rhodes right now as we speak and IF I get him I would start Rhodes and Lewis.  What do you think about that?

Moulds over Rod Smith?  Hmmmm interesting.

The way I listed our line up is who is actively playing for us this week.

i like moulds this week....he has been steady with nearly 100 yds with holcomb at qb. the rbs are a bit more dicey.

it may be a toss up between james and rhodes if you are able to make the pickup.

good luck! [smiley=duel.gif]
