Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by Callie on Sep 3rd, 2006, 9:43pm Dolphins pick up Suggs: Dolphins Keep Vick, Sign Lee Suggs (http://www.pfcritics.com/news101/DolphinsKeepVickSignLeeSug.php) Pro Football Critic (09/03/06) The Dolphins also signed running back Lee Suggs to their 53-man roster, picking him up off waivers from the Cleveland Browns. The Browns were rumored to trade Suggs to the Dolphins a few weeks ago after the New York Jets failed Suggs with his physical, but the Dolphins obviously decided to wait until he was cut. The Dolphins needed a backup running back after learning that Sammy Morris would be suspended for the first four games of the regular season. There is a chance that Suggs will be in action as the backup running back this Thursday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns waived Suggs due to his troubled injury history. Sorry about the nature of the link, but it was the best I could do so far. (In case drafters need to know about the back-up to Brown.) |

Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by DOLFAN on Sep 8th, 2006, 1:22am The running game looked terrible tonight. Pitt just shut it down, they did a great job there. Daunte looked nervous at first, then started to come around a bit. Then as soon as he started to focus on Chambers only he got off his game and was forcing it to him...then came the picks. Daunte looked good at times, but looked rusty, and underthrew too many balls. Welker was doing well when Booker was out, then Booker had the one good play, other than that I think Chambers was thrown to about 16-18 times. He is our best playmaker I agree, but to only throw to McMichael 3 times was crazy. If he plans on having a good season, then he needs to use all of the many weapons that they have on that team. I also noticed that the did not throw many deep balls,, plus they did not have 1 WR screen the entire game. There is no "Randy rule" in Miami. Saban totally gave up on the run. True they were not very effective early on with it, but to give up on it entirely...it looked like a Mike Martz team out there. 15 rushing attempts for Brown. He did not even get into his flow yet. The FB sucks too. Pittsburgh loaded up with 6-8 in the box all night long, Saban fell into the trap that they wanted him to, and it worked perfectly. We need to work on some things...and find a FB somewhere, maybe in the draft next year. |

Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by steelkings on Sep 8th, 2006, 6:51am Sorry but I must disagree a little bit with that analysis. I though Pittsburgh played poorly last night. They absolutly got some breaks. The Dolphins just 1 up'ed them in the bad football category. Tiny little Willy Parker breaking arm tackles all night is not what Saben had in mind when he drew up the defensive game plan. Cold-pepper, or as I Affectionately refer to him as "Captain Turn over was horrible. He missed so many wide open recievers on third down I thought he was my paperboy chuckin my fish wrap on my roof. I have Chambers and Brown on one of my teams and I suddenly find Kordell Culpepper very distressing. >:( |

Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by prmno on Sep 8th, 2006, 3:30pm :-[..not a good night for c'pepp - but i believe he'll be FINE...the most disgusting thing I saw was 15 rushes for ronnie - it's not rocket science - if you pund a guy at a defense - oh, say 29 (or 30) times you're gonna have some rushing success...ronnie's a big boy, he can handle the load - but i agree, if you keep throwin' 3rd down balls into the turf - it's hard to keep running...nonetheless, i think miami will bounce back pretty well... prm... |

Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by Takamine305 on Sep 29th, 2006, 1:12pm I felt like the Dolphins thread needed a little love considering it had dropped over to the 3rd page. I decided to continue the discussion from the AZCardinal thread over here where it probably fits a bit better. Touche!! However, I feel like this matchup is better YET then the Titans matchup. Houston is the 32nd ranked defense in the league. It won't get any better then that. They are allowing about 100yds/game MORE then the Titans through the air alone. I think Pepp deserves consideration this week REGARDLESS who your starter is. |

Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by StegRock on Oct 6th, 2006, 1:04am As if it really matters... From "The REAL Feed": Shoulder issue lands Culpepper on Fins injury report (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2614740&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines) ESPN: NFL (05.10.2006 20:07) Miami Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper was added to the team's injury report Thursday because of a shoulder problem, and missed at least a portion of the team's daily workout. If you are fantasy footballer still holding out hope for this guy, you are either FF-blind or you are an eternal optimist to the degree that you still see hope for an "upswinging" Marc Boerigter. ;) |

Title: Re: Dolphins In-season Report Post by StegRock on Oct 18th, 2006, 3:14am Somewhat UNlike what the "Critics" recommend, I think, given the shaky QB situation and passing game, somewhat disappointing play out of the wideouts, this is a "development" (read in both "senses") worth keeping on your radar,... [smiley=radar.gif] ESPECIALLY DEEP keeper leaguers! From "The REAL Feed": Miami Dolphins Promote Marcus Vick (http://www.pfcritics.com/news101/MiamiDolphinsPromoteMarcus.php) Pro Football Critics (17.10.2006 22:19) Marcus Vick is going to get his shot at the NFL sooner than people thought. The Miami Dolphins promoted Vick from their practice squad, terminating the contract of receiver Cliff Russell to make room for him. Russell had two catches for 14 yards.Vick will not only add to the depth at quarterback... |

I am not sure how the Ronnie Brown injury affects Ricky Williams. I do not think the NFL is going to end year long the suspension of Ricky Williams because Ronnie Brown got hurt. Sammy Morris is going to be the guy to get the chance to step up. Travis Minor is also going to get some carries...... Bottom line is Ricky Williams may come back next year, however, I do not think it will be related to Ronnie Browns injury. Personally, I think that any team that trusts Ricky Williams is crazy!! |
