Title: Help on Trades
Post by The_Goat on Sep 4th, 2006, 12:09pm
I am in a redraft league

D. Brees
D. Stallworth
Ma. Jones
D. Gabriel
W. Lundy
T. Duckett
B. Watson
J. Walker
J. Kitna
D. Jackson
C. Taylor
D. McAllister
L. Maroney
D. Akers
Philadelphia

I just got a offer Deuce Mccallister and Javon Walker for Ronnie Brown

Is this fair and then I know I lose walker but I can go pick up a corey bradford or a greg jennings or a brandon stokely. What do you vets think?

[smiley=welcome.gif], Goat!

Sorry we're not around much today on a holiday weekend.

I'd like to know more about your scoring system.  But in a standard scoring league, I think you need help at RB, and Ronnie Brown is way more than help.  McAllister is RBBC at best.  Walker should be good, but you have WRs (and Ben Watson to fill out the receiver corps) with potential.

I'd take the trade, based on my guess on your scoring system.  Then I would look for a better D.  ;D

I like your back-up plans at WR, too.  Except for Stokely.

****

Edit:  No back-up at QB?

If you can pick up Jennings, then I'd do this trade.  [smiley=yes.gif]

When did you draft? I'd be interested to see what round you drafted each person listed on your roster.

Well, first off, Goatman, [smiley=welcome.gif] to "the Gridiron".  Hang on [smiley=hanginin.gif] and hang out for a while.  I think you'll like what we got goin' on here!

As for the trade,... I'm going to come down differently than Callie and BW.  I think A LOT of this trade is decided on what you think of Reggie Bush this year from a fantasy perspective.  I KNOW BW is sold.  I think Callie is too (but I'm not sure of that).  I'm not,... not for this year.  So, since this is not a deep keeper league, I would NOT do the trade.  Miami's running game looked fairly awful this preseason.  McAllister is a potential NFL stud running back, who, yes, will lose touches to Bush, but who will also be more likely to remain healthy this season because of those lost touches to Bush.  I expect Deuce to play a full season this year, and a solid 1,000+-yard, 8+-touchdown season, I think, is likely (and then, perhaps, a trade to another team next year).  And, Javon Walker surely has STUD potential in a Broncos offense with two gem quarterbacks and some uncertainty at the tailback position.  I, at least, would not do this (kind of) trade until Deuce and Javon get to strut their stuff during the season.

Just got an offer.

They want to give me

Ronnie Brown and Marion Barber for Chester Taylor, Darrell Jackson and Stephen Davis

Should I go with this knowing people like Greg Jennings, Ladell Betts, Ron Dayne, Corey Bradford, and other notables are there. And I can pick them up. to replace who I lost. But now I got a stud.

MY TEAM IS THIS AND I AM IN A RE-DRAFT LEAGUE

D. Brees
D. Stallworth
Ma. Jones
D. Gabriel
W. Lundy
B. Watson
J. Walker
J. Kitna
D. Jackson
C. Taylor
D. McAllister
L. Maroney
Stephen Davis
D. Akers
New England

I wouldn't dub Ronnie Brown a stud just yet, especially this week against Pittsburgh...  He's gonna have a rough one.  That said, the deal is a good one.  Darrell Jackson could have an injury-plagued campaign and Davis is fairly valueless.  I do like Chester Taylor.  It's Marion Barber that puts it over the top for me.  He's intriguing this year.  He's a Parcells guy.  I think the trade is worth doing, but brace yourself for a ROUGH Week One out of Brown.  I would try to wait a week... both to avoid Brown and see how Jackson "comes back" this week.
