Title: I'm gonna call my team the Gridiron
Post by steelkings on Sep 6th, 2006, 9:33pm
Ok Gridiron members. Ive been invited to participate in a league with the following rules. I pick a roster based on general scoring rules. Yardage and scoring. Once you select your roster it is locked for the season.

3 QB's
3 RB's
5 WR's
3 K's
2 Def/st

Here's the catch. You cannot select the top five players in any catagory. Its basically an all sleeper league.

Example
QB's- No Manning x2, Palmer, Hasselbeck,Brady.
RB's-No Tomlison, Johnson,Alexander,Barber and James.
WR's-No Smith,C.Johnson,Owens, Bolden , Harrison,Holt,Fitz,Moss,Gates
K's-No Vandy, Vinny,Rackers,Elam
DEF-No Bears, Steelers,Panthers

I'll put up the fee. You put up the picks. I need these by tomarrow afternoon. You know what I know. It's last minute but with our group we should do ok.

Lets have it. Its five bucks winner take all. should be lots of teams. I can post results here.

I'll give it a stab.....I guess you'd have to know what top 5 list they are going by. Going off the list you provided I would say the following

QB's - Culpepper, Eli Manning or Bulger
RB's - Rudi Johnson, Tiki Barber (not top 5?), LaMont Jordan
WR's - Fitzgerald, Chambers, Holt, Walker
K's - Wilkins, Feely
Def - NYG, TB

Heres our team:

QB1= Jake Delhomme Selected by(SK,Philly and CP)
QB2=Donovan McNabb (Philly and Steg)
QB3= Jake Plummer (Philly,Steg and SK)
RB1= Ronnie Brown (CP and SK)
RB2=Rudi Johnson (MC,Philly,CP,Steg and SK)
RB3=Lamont Jordan (MC and Philly)
WR1=Chris Chambers (MC,Philly,CP,Steg and SK)
WR2=Terry Glenn (CP and SK)
WR3= Plax Burress (Philly, Steg, and SK)
WR4= Javon Walker (MC and CP)
WR5= Reggie Wayne (Steg and SK)
K1=Shane Graham  (Philly and CP)
K2=Jeff Reed  (SK and Steg)
k3= John Kasay (Philly and SK)
DEF1 = Jacksonville (Philly and CP)
DEF2 = Atlanta (Steg)

It was a little unfair to MC who picked before I changed the rules. It was real short notice for myself. All in all I like the team. I did reserve the right of veto and I used that right on a couple of picks.

1. The majority seemed to like kurt Warner. Since every player plays and scores and cannot be changed, I vetoed him due to the high probability of injury. He could be bagging produce by week 6. I really liked Roethlisburger too, but knowing he's out the first 2 weeks took him out of consideration.
2. There was big love from the group for Roy Williams. I just felt like we needed to stay away from players who lose alot. Bad things always seem to happen to them. Maybe things will be different for ole Roy this year. Then he can be on our team next year ;D.
3. Ditto Evans. Ditto Johnson.

Thoughts?
