Here we go again,... most notably,... with the "I'll play" or "I won't play" rhetoric... [smiley=no.gif] From "The REAL Feed":

Moss sounds off on Raiders: 'It's crazy around here (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2580737&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (09.09.2006 18:05)
Randy Moss offered some criticisms of the Raiders organization on Saturday.

What an a-hole,... though, I must agree I too an no fan of Brooks... :-/

Thanks for the good laugh prm.  But honestly, I don't think Brooks will last longer than week 6.  Andrew Walter is a stud.  Randy Moss REALLY likes Walter, and Aaron Brooks, well he sucks.  So looking deep into the  [smiley=crystalball.gif] I say the Raiders make it into the playoffs this year under Moss and Walter...woowoooo

GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!

From "The REAL Feed":

Disgruntled Porter inactive for Raiders opener (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/09/11/2020.ap.fbn.raiders.porter.0408/index.html)
SI.com: NFL (11.09.2006 23:09)

So, what does this indicate??? ?.?.?

More bad news for an ailing Raiders offense... and for fantasy owners of LaMont Jordan & Co.  From "The REAL Feed":

GALLERY OUT WITH CALF INJURY (http://www.sportinglife.com/nfl/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=international_feed/06/09/15/GRIDIRON_USA-Oakland_Gallery.html)
Sporting Life: NFL (16.09.2006 20:17)
Oakland Raiders starting left tackle Robert Gallery will be out for two to three weeks witha calf problem

They won't get shut out twice in a row,... WILL THEY??? :o

Let the transition begin... ALREADY...  From off "the Gridiron Newsstand":

"Raiders' Brooks injured; return questionable (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/OAK/9666350)"

It says that Brooks's return is questionable,... but, really, there is NO doubt he won't return... perhaps ever... [smiley=wave.gif] Sorry, brother,... you're just NOT really an NFL-caliber QB, man. :-/

Title: Re: Raiders In-season Report

From off "the Gridiron Newsstand", Brooks out 2 to 4 weeks,... but, how I see it,... he's done (and rightfully so):

"Brooks sidelined, Walter to start (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/OAK/9669354)"

I think this kid Walter could be something special,... and I also wonder how soon they'll be resigning Jeff George...  Stay tuned... [smiley=threed.gif]

An TWOfold optimistic injury report for the Raiders O-line,... Sims and Gallery.  From "The REAL Feed":

Raiders get boost: No serious damage to Sims' hip (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2595333&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (20.09.2006 02:30)
The Raiders' beleaguered offensive line finally received some good news when MRI tests performed on guard Barry Sims' hip showed no significant damage, Oakland coach Art Shell said Tuesday.

What's new?  Randy Moss shoots mouth off... again.  From "The REAL Feed":

NFL insider: Moss' big mouth may reveal a bigger problem (http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/33767.html)
The Sacramento Bee: Sports (04.10.2006 03:33)
Uh, oh. Randy Moss is talking on the radio again. And if Raiders coach Art Shell was miffed about past comments from his ballyhooed but unproductive wide receiver, he sure isn't going to like the latest batch of remarks.

Title: Re: Raiders In-season Report
Post by Callie on Oct 4th, 2006, 7:46pm
Yeah.  But Randy always makes noise when he wants more looks from the QB.

Walter and Moss just need to get more game time together, and I think Randy is trying to push for that - even in a lot of coverage.  If Randy starts getting the ball, he'll be a happy Raider.  (And that depends on the development of the O-line....)

Porter suspended for 4 weeks!

Raiders suspend WR Porter for detrimental conduct (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=raidersporter&prov=st&type=lgns)
Yahoo Sports (14.10.2006 16:20)
Jerry Porter does not want to play any more for the Oakland Raiders. Coach Art Shell does not want the veteran wide receiver around the team.
The Raiders have suspended Porter four games for conduct detrimental to the team.

Art Shell is loyal to his Raiders, but he is also the boss.

This is, at least, worth noting because of the guy's funky name,... and because in fantasy football, you can never get enough running backs...  From "The REAL Feed":

Raiders activate RB Echemandu as insurance for Jordan (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2634332&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (21.10.2006 20:03)
The Oakland Raiders activated running back Adimchinobe Echemandu from the practice squad on Saturday as insurance if LaMont Jordan or Justin Fargas can't play this week.

Walter tweaks hammy... according to "The REAL Feed":

Oakland QB Walter hurts hamstring (http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=nfl/news/ABN4045811.htm)

From "The REAL Feed"...

[smiley=injury.gif] Jordan's status for this week:

Jordan listed as questionable for Raiders (http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=nfl/news/ABN4046229.htm)
The Sports Network: NFL (25.10.2006 19:03)

Justin Fargas becomes a more and more intriguing fantasy prospect... [smiley=radar.gif]

In other news, Jerry Porter is back playing:

Porter reinstated to Raiders after serving 2 games of suspension (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/wires/10/25/2020.ap.fbn.raiders.porter.2nd.ld.writethru.0666/index.html)
SI.com: NFL (25.10.2006 21:03)

I REALLY wonder...  What is his fantasy value at present??? [smiley=stilldunno.gif]

Pitchin' the Raiders backs as a viable option on the fantasy gridiron...  From "The REAL Feed":

Jordan and Fargas: An elite rushing duo? (http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/articles/2006/10/raiders-jordan-fargas271006.html)
NFL News: RealFootball365.com (27.10.2006 11:12)
The idea seems almost laughable, when you consider that the Oakland Raiders currently sit at 1-5 and have a total of two rushing touchdowns through six games. Yet the duo of LaMont Jordan and Justin Fargas is, in fact, one of the more productive running back tandems in the NFL.

Porter back where he belongs... on the field...  From "The REAL Feed":

Jerry Porter reportedly will see his first on-field action Sunday for the Raiders.

Aaron Brooks may be back at the helm... according to "The REAL Feed":

LaMont Jordan injured again... according to sources available on "the Gridiron Newsstand":

"Raiders RB Jordan helped off field (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/OAK/9814864)"

Will Justin Fargas, alas, be able to capitalize?  He's had his moments this year... early on.  And, then, he's had other moments... where's he's looked atrocious. [smiley=shrug.gif]

Title: Re: Raiders In-season Report
Post by StegRock on Nov 19th, 2006, 6:24pm
From off "the Gridiron Newsstand",... another season-ending casualty on the day, LaMont Jordan:

"Season over for Raiders RB Jordan (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/OAK/9814864)"

Justin Fargas now gets his opportunity.  He was okay today...  We'll see...

Title: Re: Raiders In-season Report

Now the report is that he may "not" be out for the season...  From "The REAL Feed":

Knee injury could sideline Raiders' Jordan for season (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2669980&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (20.11.2006 20:42)
Just when quarterback Aaron Brooks returned to give Oakland's struggling offense a needed boost, the Raiders lost starting running back LaMont Jordan to a knee injury that could sideline him for the rest of the season.

I've been hearing this rumor all day, but no one on the forums could confirm it.

IT'S TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raiders replace offensive coordinator (http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/states/california/northern_california/16116384.htm)
The Mercury News (Nov. 28, 2006)
The Oakland Raiders replaced offensive coordinator Tom Walsh on Tuesday, promoting tight ends coach John Shoop to take charge of the team's struggling offense.

Currently topping "The REAL Feed"...  The Raiders have a new bossman:

Raiders zero in on coach, have deal with USC's Kiffin (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2739645&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (22.01.2007 23:15)
The Oakland Raiders have hired USC offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin as their head coach.

Title: Re: Raiders In-season Report
Post by Callie on Jan 23rd, 2007, 8:09pm
Here is a bio for Kiffin  (notice that his dad is the DC for the Bucs - Monte Kiffin) :

LANE KIFFIN
Offensive Coordinator
Wide Receivers
Recruiting Coordinator
(http://usctrojans.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/kiffin_lane00.html)

And now the word is that Sarkisian is interviewing for OC!  The Raiders originally wanted him as HC, he says he said no.  The Raiders and Kiffin say Sarkisian was never offered the job.  They apparently originally interviewed Kiffin to be Sarkisian's assistant with the Raiders, and now the flip is flipped.  (Or else they were after Kiffin to be a head coach right from the start.  I've heard different versions.  Davis and Kiffin say the latter.)  Kiffin has actually been making the play calls from upstairs while being the co-OC with Sark.

Also, Rob Ryan (the Raiders' terrific DC) should stay and is said to have gotten a very nice raise.   ;)

Edit:  I just saw the press conference with Al Davis and Lane Kiffin, and I didn't hear anything about Sarkisian interviewing for OC.  That may be a rumor, or they may be playing things close to the vest.  Either way, Kiffin says he's on his way to the Senior Bowl to interview potential staff additions and evaluate players.
