Title: Who to Start? Help please?
Post by js71977 on Sep 15th, 2006, 3:00pm
Should I start Michael Vick vs. Tampa Bay or Donovan McNabb Vs. NYG?

Should I start Reggie Wayne vs. Texans, T.J. Houshmanzadeh vs. Browns or Chris Chambers vs. Dolphins?

I am leaning towards McNabb and Wayne in this 12 man league. I can only start one WR. Please help me with this decision.

Thanks to All.

Well, js71, first off, [smiley=welcome.gif] to "the Gridiron".  We've got an awesome bunch here.  Hang out for a bit and you'll see for yourself.  Hang out a little more and make yourself part of that great bunch. :D

As for you're lineup,... I'm unfortunately going to muddy the waters... :-/ I like McNabb and Vick about the same this week.  I just have a hunch, though, that McNabb is going to come down a little toward reality after last week and Vick is going to have a better overall game than last week, when he was decent, mind you.  I'm just really of the school that this is finally Vick's year to break through (statistically).  I would go with Vick, but only by a hair.  It's really a coin toss.  As for at receiver, I would go with Chambers (vs. Buffalo),... HANDS-DOWN.  Wayne and Housh are a little beat-up still.  I say Indy and Cincy go up rather big and then work the running game (I expect a HUGE week from Rudi).  Buffalo and Miami are intra-division rivals.  It'll be a dog fight, and Miami's rushing attack has yet to look good this year, so they need to rely on their passing game.  Furthermore, (the coaches know) Culpepper needs a "bounce-back" game so as to feel good about himself.  So, I think their attack will go through his arm... and likely into Chambers's hands.

[offtopic]Also, js71, we try to keep thread proliferation at a minimum.  I'd REALLY appreciate it if you in the future for this season continued to use this thread as your general "lineup help" thread.  Thank you for your anticipated understanding and cooperation! [smiley=bow.gif][/offtopic]

Yes  [smiley=welcome.gif] js!!! Post here often and remember to always give your  [smiley=twocents.gif] worth when others need start/sit help. Everyone's opinion counts here.  I think you'll be ok with either QB but I lean a little towards McNabb, though I do think Vick will have his year as Steg suggests! I like Chambers here against the Bills. I think that while Housh and Wayne are exceptional receivers and are playing substandard "D's"....they are still both second fiddle on their respective teams. Chambers is solid and is the Fins surefire #1. Again...welcome... ;D

welcome! [smiley=dancin.gif]3

tough choice at qb.  i am not a vick fan and expect him to crash and burn again at some point this season.  mcnabb looked solid against a weak team and the giants will definitely give him a test.  tampa bay has had vick's number for awhile so i would go with mcnabb.

i like chambers to rebound from last week's 1/2 half performance. should go over the top against the bills.

good luck! [smiley=radar.gif]

McNabb is a good play this week. He'll get lots of chances to throw and run against the G-men. You can bet Tampa will be fired up for a division opponent after last week's embarrassment. They're a good team still and they'll take it out on Vick.

At WR, I like Reggie Wayne. The Texans defense is shaky and the Colts will be throwing as always. Housh might still be feeling the effects of his injury, so I'd be cautious this week with him. Regardless of what anyone says, I'm not sold on Culpepper as the Fins QB yet and Buffalo has an aggressive secondary that could make things difficult for Chambers.

Easy choice for me...Vick is out and McNabb is in...not even close.  The league has Vick figured out, until Vick figures the league out...very eractic results at best.

Totally agree!  At WR I would take Reggie Wayne.  Even if Indy gets out to a big lead, Wayne will still get his stats.

[smiley=yes.gif]...yep - i'd go w/ mcnabb and wayne this week...i'm a little wary of the c'pepp/chambers combo until their running game gets rolling...or until c'pepp gets his roll on again...
good luck,
prm...
