Title: Bears FF-specific Team Report Post by Takamine305 on Oct 29th, 2006, 11:57am by Nathan Hamilton Time & Date of this Update (PST): 09:00 Sun Dec 17 2006 News: Week 15 Review - Buccaneers? Fantasy Football Slant: Chicago battles the Bucs this week at Soldier Field. My suggestion is to start any of their star players this week. What can I say...It's the Bucs!! Rex Grossman hasn't been the greatest option as of late but look for him to look a little more like he did the beginning of the season this week. I have Grossman as a #1 QB this week. Start him. Thomas Jones is the starting tailback but not the only tailback. He is a solid starter this week as a #2 RB against the Bucs. Cedric Benson is slowly getting his touches in games. Benson is #3 RB this week. I have Muhsin Muhammad as a solid #2 WR this week. I have Bernard Berrian as a solid #2 WR this week. I have Mark Bradley, Rashied Davis, and Justin Gage as #4, #4, and #5 WR respectively. Desmond Clark is a decent TE when he gets the looks. I have Clark as a #2 TE this week. Robbie Gould is still a #1 option this week. Bears defense is ranked #3 overall. They are a must start this week and I just can't wait to watch Devin Hester try to do it again and again with the return TDs. Time & Date of this Update (PST): 09:00 Sun Dec 10 2006 News: Week 14 Review - Anyone heard of Griese? Fantasy Football Slant: Well the Bears got a win again last week with next to nothing out of the offense. One has to think regardless of what Rex Grossman did in the beginning of the season that it's getting close to time for Brian Griese. The St. Louis Rams should provide the type of game to get the Bears' confidence on offense back. Rex Grossman is still the starter and should perform well this week. Rex has put up some pretty shaky numbers and it would be smart to look at a different option this week until he gets back on track. If he struggles again this week I can see a move being made for Brian Griese. Grossman is a #2 QB until further notice. Thomas Jones should have a decent week against the Rams. They have allowed a 100yd rusher in their past 6 games. Cedric Benson will steal some carries from Jones but I would still start him. Jones is #2 RB while Beson is a #3. The Bears' WR corps is one that has the potential to put up big numbers. If Grossman is struggling then this group obviously struggles...it's a vicious cycle. Muhsin Muhammad is the first option for the Bears and should probably be a #2 option in fantasy leagues. Bernard Berrian is a #3 WR for most teams this week. He provides that big play potential that just might get you into the playoffs. Mark Bradley, Rashied Davis, and Justin Gage are all options but are more risky players. Consider these guys #4 WR this week. Desmond Clark is a good option. Clark is a #2 TE though for this week. Robbie Gould is a #1 option every week. Time & Date of this Update (PST): 17:34 Sun Dec 2 2006 News: Week 13 Review - Another recovery Fantasy Football Slant: I'm looking for the bears to make quite a recovery off their 2nd loss of the season. They will host the Minnesota Vikings in their 2nd meeting this year. Rex Grossman will be up against one of the worst pass defenses in the league this week. I can't help but give him another #1 rating this week. Thomas Jones is still the number one guy in Chicago as far as the running game goes. He will be rushing against one of the best rush defenses in the league which doesn't bode well for Jones. I would look elsewhere if you have the options this week. Still, he's worth a #2 ranking from me. Cedric Benson may end up with a decent workload this week. Depending on how Jones can perform against this D. If he struggles again look for Benson to get a decent amount of touches. Benson is a #3 RB this week and worth a gamble for teams desperate for a win. Muhsin Muhammad is a decent play this week. I have him as a #2 WR this week. Bernard Berrian hasn't been much of a producer in the past weeks but should be fully recovered and seems due for one of his big TDs. I have him as a #3 WR this week. Mark Bradley, however, has been putting up some fantasy numbers in the past weeks. I don't know that anyone would put him in but could be a decent sleeper. Bradley is a #4 receiver and again could be helpful for those fantasy teams desparate for a win. Justin Gage and Rashied Davis aren't worth much consideration from a fantasy standpoint. Desmond Clark is a #1 TE this week. I see Grossman going back to the TE which in turn will open up the deep ball. Robbie Gould is a week in and week out #1 place kicker. The Chicago Bears defense is simply a great defense. If you have them they are starting. They also have several IDPs that would be great options for those leagues that require them. Time & Date of this Update (PST): 22:15 Sat Nov 25 2006 News: Week 12 Review - New England Patriots Fantasy Football Slant: Chicago still has plenty of doubters and this week could be one to turn those into believers. New England has a decent defense which could make this one a dog fight. Rex Grossman is still a solid #1 QB in my opinion. He probably won't have record breaking numbers but good enough to be considered the starter on MOST fantasy teams. Thomas Jones is probably considered a #2 RB this week and is coming off a decent performance last week minus a touchdown. I would consider other options if available. Cedric Benson isn't worth a start yet. He could get some decent playing time in the coming weeks though. Stay tuned. Muhsin Muhammad is the goto guy in the Chicago receiving corps. I have him as a solid #2 WR this week. Bernard Berrian is the Bears' 2nd option through the air but has been a bit hampered while recovering from the rib injury. I would consider starting him this week against the Patriots. Berrian is a #3 WR while Mark Bradley is a #4. Rashied Davis is also a #4. Desmond Clark is the number one TE option for Chicago. I would start Clark this week as a #1 TE on MOST fantasy teams. Robbie Gould is a #1 option at the place kicker position. Start with confidence. Chicago Bears are a must start every week at defense. You aren't going to see my comment change much at this position. If you have them, you're playing them. Time & Date of this Update (PST): 08:30 Sun Nov 19 2006 News: Week 11 Review - Start 'em Fantasy Football Slant: This could be short and sweet. The Bears make a trip back to New York to face the Jets. Start 'em!! Rex Grossman is a solid #1 QB this week and is worth a start in any league. Thomas Jones is in line for a big week this week I think. Consider him a #1 RB this week. Cedric Benson is the backup and looks to remain the backup unless injuries place him in the lineup. Muhsin Muhammad is a nice option for Grossman as well as for any fantasy owner. Consider him a #1 WR this week. Bernard Berrian is questionable but has been reported to play this week. Consider Berrian a #3 WR this week. Rashied Davis, Mark Bradley, and Justin Gage finish off this WR corps as risky options for fantasy owners. All are #4 WRs. Desmond Clark is a decent start this week at TE. Consider Clark a #1 TE option this week and should see at least a TD. Robbie Gould is yet another #1 option on this team at PK. The Chicago Bears defense is primed for another big week. There is never a reason to take them out of any lineup...I will finish as i began with...Start 'em!! Time & Date of this Update (PST): 09:45 Sun Nov 12 2006 News: Week 10 Review - Rebound Fantasy Football Slant: Probably their biggest game of the season so far the Bears face the banged up Giants in New York. The Bears make a statement this week. Rex Grossman is coming off a struggle last week. He is still a #1 QB and should have much better numbers this week. Thomas Jones is also a #1 for Chicago. He will be the guy this week at RB and should carry the load. Cedric Benson does swipe some carries from Jones but not enough to merit a start as of yet. Benson is a #3. Bernard Berrian, my pick at WR last week was injured in the first play. A must start if he plays this week at a #2. Muhsin Muhammad is also a #2 WR and will be leaned on if Berrian is out. Mark Bradley will take Berrian's place if he's unable to go. This could be quite a sleeper pick this week. Bradley is a #3 this week. Rashied Davis is a #4 as well as Justin Gage. I like Desmond Clark as a #1 TE this week and most weeks. Rex will continue to use his TE and even more with Berrian being a bit banged up. Robbie Gould is a week in and week out starter. Keep him in the lineup at a #1 this week. The Chicago Bears defense is still a #1 defense. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. Time & Date of this Update (PST): 10:00 Sun Nov 5 2006 News: Week 9 Review - Keep Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Fantasy Football Slant: Chicago faces Miami at home for their week 9 challenge. I can't see the Bears slipping and falling here so expect good numbers from the majority of their starters yet again. Rex Grossman is a solid #1 QB week in and week out this year. Start with confidence and sit back and relax....just enjoy the show. Thomas Jones is the starting back but not the ONLY back in this running game. Jones will get the bulk of the carries and consider him a solid #2 this week. Cedric Benson will get some touches and is a #3 this week. Benson could see extended time if the game gets out of hand which seems to be the theme of most Bears games. The WR corps is healthy and primed for another good outing. Bernard Berrian is my guy this week. Look for a MINIMUM of one deep TD catch this week from Berrian. Mushin Muhammad is a #2 WR and will be involved plenty in the offense. Rashied Davis and Justin Gage complete this squad. They both are #4 WR and if you enjoy taking chances feel free to place them in your roster. Desmond Clark is becoming a top tier TE in this league. Start at will with Clark being a solid #1. John Gilmore will grab a ball or two but isn't worth consideration. Robbie Gould is another Bear that has quickly become a newcomer to the top tier of their respective position. Start with confidence as Gould is a #1 place kicker. Chicago Bears have one of the best defenses in the league....Keep them in your lineup at all costs against Miami. Time & Date of this Update (PST): 09:00 Sun Oct 29 2006 News: Week 8 Review - Chicago back in action vs. Niners Fantasy Football Slant: Chicago looks to go 7-0 today which they haven't done since 1985. I think we all know about that '85 team. At QB, Rex Grossman has become an every week fantasy starter. Grossman is a #1 fantasy QB and should put up some good numbers against this SanFran team. Thomas Jones is still the starter in Chicago and is a decent #2 RB this week. It looks as if the Bears want to get Cedric Benson a little more involved which will cut down on Jones' workload. I have Benson as a #3 RB this week and a decent sleeper candidate. This WR group is a little tricky as far as fantasy goes. The starters, Muhsin Muhammad and Bernard Berrian, are both considered solid #2 WR this week. Moose has had a few weeks of little to no production but gets back into the passing game this week. Rashied Davis is really the only other WR worth consideration in leagues. He is a #4 WR and has vultured two TD's so far this year. Mark Bradley and Justin Gage haven't seen a lot of throws and warrant no consideration...at least for now. Desmond Clark is a decent TE play every week. I have him in the top 10 which would make him a #1 TE this week. John Gilmore is another of those vultures that is near impossible to place in a lineup but could grab a TD. Robbie Gould has also become an every week starter. He's perfect for the year and easily a high #1 this weeek. Chicago Bears defense. Need I say more? I think we all know what to do here.
