Title: So, is that it for Brett???
Post by StegRock on Dec 31st, 2006, 11:19pm
Going into the game, it seemed not...  At the game's conclusion, it seemed otherwise...  You all's takes...  Is it, alas, [smiley=wavinbye.gif], Brett??? :-/

by his reaction ... he's done.... he has at least one more good year in him.... I think it depends on what GB does in the offseason.... They have a good nucleus... if they can win, he will come back.. he's a competitor...

I say get Brett's ego off the field, and give Rogers the chance to start his career.  I'm not a Packer fan, but that's the best thing for the Packers.

Well, I wouldn't say the best thing for the packers is Aaron Rodgers.  The best thing for the  [smiley=cheesehead.gif] IMO is to retain Brett for one more year.  They went 8-8 this year, which is MUCH improved from last year.  If they can get a stud WR in the draft, and fix some D-line issues, they could be in playoff contention next year.

I honestly think that Brett will stick around for one more year, and he will announce that "undoubtedly" this WILL be his last year.  I think he has screwed around with the fans long enough.  So, I say he stays.

This may be the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while! Rogers will never be a qb in this league....

I don't know about that part, though I am leaning in that direction, but I DEFINITELY see eye-to-eye with this...

I think Farve's going to retire even though there is gas in the tank and I don't know how anyone can saw anything one way or another about Rodgers at this point.

Should he retire though, I could totally see a QB somewhere going down early next year and Farve coming off the farm in like 2 days and throwing for 400 yards.

I'm just curious as to what body of work you're making this judgment off of? I'll admit that I think the odds are against him being a successful QB in the NFL, but it's WAY too early to put the nails in that coffin.

Personally, I hope that Brett makes up his mind sooner than later. What he did to the organization last year was despicable, regardless of the standing he's earned. The team has to be able to plan for the future and they need to know whether he's a part of it or not. I'm a big Favre fan and would love to see him come back again, but if he drags his feet again and doesn't decide until summer rolls around, then I'll lose some more respect for him.
