Title: Chiefs In-season Report Post by StegRock on Sep 5th, 2007, 4:12pm Here's more of the "we're gonna ease LJ into action" rhetoric... ::) From "The REAL Feed": Chiefs' Edwards: L.J. to get light workload early (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3005400&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines) ESPN: NFL (05.09.2007 11:37) Larry Johnson set an NFL record in 2006 with 416 rushing attempts. In the early going of this season, the Chiefs' top running back will see a lighter workload, however. I'll believe it when I see it,... but,... who's behind LJ, Michael Bennett, is himself a semi-proven tailback, who has a little Priest Holmes in him, so... :-/ he may just be worth a roster spot in deep leagues... Kansas City coach Herm Edwards did not rule out the possibility that he might play this week against Oakland. I guess he's finally going to start praciticing. Maybe thats why L.J. finally got off his ass yesterday. |

Title: Re: Chiefs In-season Report Post by StegRock on Nov 17th, 2007, 11:27pm Brought to you by way of "the Gridiron Newsstand", an update on L.J. from NFL.com... "No longer limping, Johnson says he will play again this season (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8043a698&template=with-video&confirm=true)" I wouldn't be penciling him anytime soon, though, and I wouldn't be counting on him to help me make a push for a championship. |

Title: Re: Chiefs In-season Report Post by Callie on Nov 20th, 2007, 11:43pm OK, this stuff is worth watching. And it looks like Priest Holmes is expected to announce his retirement on Wednesday. Here is the only OFFICIAL thing I have: http://www.kbsd6.com/Global/story.asp?S=7390861 This is from PFT: "PRIEST TO CALL IT QUITS A league source tells us that Priest Holmes will announce his retirement from the NFL during a Wednesday press conference. Adam Schefter of NFL Network, citing an unnamed source, has a similar report. Holmes re-injured his neck on Sunday. The neck originally was injured in 2005, and he was out of football for all of the 2006 season. The former holder of the single-season touchdown record is signed through 2009. The Chiefs presumably could attempt to recover some bonus money from Holmes, but to do so would be a bad P.R. move. " Good journeys, Priest. I hate the Chiefs, but that is not about you. |
