Title: Re: Texans In-season Report Post by StegRock on Sep 24th, 2007, 5:13pm Regarding Ahman Green,... the news is mixed as I see it... An MRI came up negative, so the long term seems okay. However, he could very well miss this week's game, and, injury-prone mind you, 30-somethings with sore, swollen knees early in the season,... well,... is not what you want to hear about (heck they had a 20-something with "just" a sore knee the preseason before last, and it appears that his career may be over,... Domanick Davis that is)... Here's the source from a LOCAL daily available on "the Gridiron Newsstand": "Green's knee injury not serious, 'just swelling' (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/5160059.html)" So, bump Dayne, who is also a little dinged right now, and Gado up (at least) your (value) lists a hair. Actually, one or both of them may be low-end playable, #3-4's, against the Falcons in Week 4. |

Title: Re: Texans In-season Report Post by Callie on Oct 26th, 2007, 2:58am Texans coach Gary Kubiak told his players and the media today it is the team's understanding that their game with the Chargers will be played Monday night at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The Texans, Chargers and the NFL are still waiting for official word from San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders. Commissioner Roger Goodell let Sanders make the decision on San Diego before the league found an alternate site -- Texas Stadium or Reliant Stadium. Texans plan to play at San Diego on Monday night (http://blogs.chron.com/nfl/2007/10/if_chargers_play_at_reliant_st.html) 10/25 |

Title: Re: Texans In-season Report Post by StegRock on Jan 12th, 2008, 7:23am The key to this report is not the headline name but, rather, the other guy mentioned,... Alex Gibbs! Yup, the Texans now have the offensive line coach of the Broncos rushing hayday as well as the Falcons in late years. From "The REAL Feed": Texans name Kyle Shanahan offensive coordinator (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3192517&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines) ESPN: NFL (11.01.2008 19:10) Kyle Shanahan was promoted to offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans, making him the youngest coach at that position in the NFL. This could spell big things for whoever ends up running the rock in Houston next season, which could very well be Ron [smiley=spchef.gif] Dayne, who is coming off a solid season and, despite playing at age 30 next season, still has a lot of tread on the tires. This is a situation to keep your eye on, and, in any event, if Dayne ends up being the guy (I think he will), it's time for fantasy footballers who are against the guy to set aside their biases. |
