Title: MC's WDIS thread!!
Post by MordecaiCourage on Sep 13th, 2007, 4:58pm
OK..standard scoring league...all rushing/receiving TD's = 6 pts. Passing TD's = 4 pts. Rush/receiving  = 1 pt.  per 10 yds. 1 pt every 25 yds passing.  BASIC

Start - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 D/ST

My team:
QB - Hasselbeck, Favre, Cutler
RB - R. Johnson, Bush, B. Jackson, Lynch, Dayne
WR - Wayne, Walker, Berrian, Jennings
TE - Dallas Clark, McMichael
PK - Gostkowski
D/ST - Baltimore

The only guys I'm sure about this week are Wayne, Walker, Gost, and Balt.

I am leanung towards Johnson and Bush at RB. QB is a toss up to me...kinda' like Favre at the G-men.

Whatcha think guru's? Thanks

I really HATE Favre, but I think you gotta start him this week vs. the GMen that made Romo look like Favre-of-the-mid-90s.

Definitely Rudi and Bush at RB.   Lynch has a terrible matchup, Dayne isn't a starter, and Jackson would mean starting 2 Packers.... [smiley=sick.gif]

Good Luck!

[offtopic] BTW, your GBRFL2 team has terrible matchups, I'd just bench them all and take it like a man.   ;D [/offtopic]

Thanks Rob...I remember when you could ask for starter help and at least 4 or 5 people would flock around to help...whatever happened to those days?  ?.?.?

Never fear! I am here!

QB - Hasselbeck, Favre, Cutler
RB - R. Johnson, Bush, B. Jackson, Lynch, Dayne
WR - Wayne, Walker, Berrian, Jennings
TE - Dallas Clark, McMichael
PK - Gostkowski
D/ST - Baltimore

The Bald Man
How can you sit Johnson and Bush? (hehehehhehe) They are a team. They work together. One without the other jist isn't right. (I'm jist sayin')
Wayne, Walker [smiley=hellyeafunny.gif]
Wife Beater
Gostkowski!? [smiley=nerd.gif] (I'm jist sayin'..Git a real kicker  [smiley=loser.gif])
You know the rest! [smiley=stilldunno.gif]

Most of this is pretty obvious. The debate is really over an undersized Reggie Bush. I think you will find that Duece will assume a much heavier load this coming weekend. His carries from last weekend will double. With that Reggie Bush's will decrease. Bush will catch more passes than your other options, but I would look hard at Jackson as my starter.

For what its worth  :-/

OK..I won my first playoff game. A win here gets me to our Superbowl.

....standard scoring league...all rushing/receiving TD's = 6 pts. Passing TD's = 4 pts. Rush/receiving  = 1 pt.  per 10 yds. 1 pt every 25 yds passing.  BASIC

Start - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 D/ST

My team:
QB - Hasselbeck, Favre
RB - R. Johnson, Bush,  Lynch, Grant, Watson
WR - Wayne, Walker, Berrian, Jennings
TE - Dallas Clark
PK - Gostkowski
D/ST - Baltimore, Seattle

I'm currently going with Favre, Johnson, Grant, Wayne, Jennings, Clark, Gostkowski, and Seattle.

Any thoughts? I am waivering on Hass/Favre, Balt/Seattle, Johnson/Lynch, but I think they may be a wash for the most part.

Only thing,... I would go with Baltimore over Seattle by a hair.  It's really a toss-up, though.

I think you've made the right calls.   I don't necessarily like the risk that comes with the overloaded Farve/Jennings/Grant combination.   But it's been successful for you.

I too would go with BAL over SEA making the long trek east.

good luck!

I'd go with Favre over Hass. (Seattle will run more with Alexander getting back and the Carolina defense is slightly more impressive than the Rams in my opinion.)

I'd go with Lynch over Rudi. (Buffalo heads to defenseless Cleveland and weather could dictate keeping the ball on the ground. Plus Buff runs better than they pass with Trent Edwards right now.)

I'd definitely go with the Baltimore D over the Seattle D. (Cleo Lemon is not the second coming of Dan Marino nor is Jesse Chatman the second coming of Larry Csonka. I think Baltimore D will be just fine.)

My only concern about Hass/Favre would be that Favre is hurting and may be saved for the playoffs after they get a nice lead.  Of course, if Brett has anything to say about it, he'll stay in.  But he wants the ring this year (so he can retire??  ;D ).

I thought about that too. If the Packers somehow stink it up then I could be sunk. One other thing that has me thinking Favre is that the guy I'm playing has Driver. If for some reason Driver ends up with the TD's this week instead of Jennings, I would at least get the same 6 points he would get for the score.  [smiley=stilldunno.gif]

Thanks everyone who responded

Looked over the weather reports and double checked defensive ratings and saw that SF ranks 26th in rushing defense and Cleveland ranks 28th. So I went ahead and switched out Rudi and put in Lynch. So, I'm going with an influx of ya'lls suggestions.....Favre, Lynch, Grant, Wayne, Jennings, Clark, Gostkowski, and Baltimore Let's hope you guys are right again!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] Thanks again...any last suggestions?  Todd...Tony...Anyone????

I think it looks good. The only thing I would be leary about is B-More. Last I heard is that several prominent members of that squad had a bad case of the flu. I'm thinking both starting corners are out, as well as possibly Ray-Ray and Adailious Thomas with the flu. Even worse than that is that they have cashed it in for the season anyway.

They are playing the Dolphins though!

How did you come out MC?   That MIA TD to win in OT hurt.  At least a FG would've kept them under 21.

Hope you won!

Yeah, I squeeked out a victory. The guy I played had Brady.....and you know how that went for him  ;D I did lose in my other cash league, using virtually the same lineup..except I had Rudi Johnson and Kellen Winslow in that league. Oh well..this bigger money league is gonna earn me at least a couple bills!! ;)
