Title: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread - SUPERBOWL EDITION!!! Post by captainpurple on Sep 23rd, 2007, 11:38am Hi all! Standard scoring + 1 PPR. Also get 1pt/15 return yards. Start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, WR/RB, WR/TE, TE, K, D Roster QB - Brees, Warner WR - Holt, Welker, Driver, A.Gonzales RB - Parker, Lendale White, Bush, D.Sproles TE - Gates,HMiller, Crumpler K - Graham D/ST - TB *starters in bold Week 3 WDIS Should I start Welker over Curry? After Cleveland's performance last week, maybe Curry can get 8-130-1 ? Parker and Bush are probably solid in a PPR league, but maybe someone thinks I should start White over Bush/Curry/Welker? Thanks! |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by MordecaiCourage on Sep 23rd, 2007, 12:08pm I would go with Curry over Welker. I think you have your best options already in place.....Looks okay to me |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by StegRock on Sep 23rd, 2007, 1:11pm A subscription to Steg's List (http://www.stegslist.com) could have helped here... This is too late, but I just got up,... [smiley=tired.gif] so what are you gonna do... But, just for the heck of it, I would have went with White, Welker, Lewis and, actually, even Clayton (by one spot in my receiver rankings) over Curry... We'll see how that goes... [smiley=dunce.gif] ... [smiley=idontknow.gif] |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by captainpurple on Oct 19th, 2007, 1:50pm Week 7 WDIS Need a D matchup this week. I've got PIT @ DEN and WAS vs ARI. I'm leaning WAS as Shanny has had a week to scheme on the Steelers, and it's @ Mile High. Thoughts? |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by steelkings on Oct 19th, 2007, 3:43pm In my Steeler report...(When Its up) I lean to the bronks staying in this one. It will have more to do with the bronk DB's then it will the Steeler D. If you want safety...go with Washington. If you want risk with high possible reward, go with Pittsburgh. The x factor is that the 07 bronks are comming apart at the seams and it wont take much to spin the momentum against them. |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by MordecaiCourage on Oct 19th, 2007, 5:22pm It's close to a wash in my opinion. I like the Steelers a little more though! ;D |

I know...it's a tough call. But if WAS can stuff Brat Farte in Lamebow, surely they can stop Rattay/Warner at home?! :-/ BTW, is it OK if I call you Shirley ;D |

Well...like SK said, you can go with the safe(r) pick in Washington, but I think big play potential is on the side of the Black and gold! |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by captainpurple on Nov 16th, 2007, 11:41am Back with a week 11 WDIS. Kevin Jones may only play part of the game since they have a divisional tilt with GB on Thanksgiving, so I'm opting for Lendale White as my 3rd RB. That said, I could flex Heath Miller or DJ Hackett into that spot. I like White's matchup vs. Denver, but Chris Brown will be back, so he might lose carries...and White's a little banged up. Miller has been on fire (4 TDs in 4 games). Thoughts? (other scenario being I start Miller at TE, bench Gates and go with White or Hackett at the flex, but Gates must be due for a good game by now!) Also could be talked into starting PIT @NYJ instead of TB @ATL. I just like an defense playing Harrington/Leftwich. Thanks for the help! |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by Callie on Nov 16th, 2007, 9:45pm Jones is still hurting, but he could easily get you something with receptions. The Giants let RBs do that. But you're right about the fact that DET will rest him if they need to do that. He could get you low yards and TDs. White is a good idea IF he gets the runs. They'll have to go to him or someone else against a bad run D & with Young in a bad QB match-up. Heck, at this point, either White or Young or Brown or whoever will run a lot this week. It's just not possible to know who will get the runs. Miller plays the Jets. They aren't all that nice to TEs. I would DEFINITELY play Gates this week!!! Rivers will need to use him, IMHO. And he can against the Jags. Hackett has a bad match-up, but they will definitely pass. So.... In your shoes, I would take the shot and play White or Hackett at flex (make your call), sit Jones, play Gates. At Def, why in the wild, wild west would you sit the Steeler D this week???? If I didn't get your options right, at least I explained my thoughts. Edit: Sorry about the modify. I got symbols inside of contractions again. ;D |

good question! maybe I've overanalyzed it? I just look at an injured leftwich or Harrington and think I love that matchup! Clemens is w/o coles though, so PIT is prolly the better option. |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread Post by steelkings on Nov 17th, 2007, 8:53pm I'll just deal with the question of Gates. The guy has 10 receptions and 2 TD's over the last 4 games. Thats Oakland, Minnesota, Indianapolis and Houston. Not necessarly in that order but those teams nonetheless. Its not because Gates is playing poorly. Its not because Rivers is struggling. Ok, Maybe Rivers get lots of the credit, Buts its mostly because San Diego is a bad football team. Norv Turner is a bad head coach. Plain and simple. Those guys couldn't get out of each others way last week offensively against a patch work Indy team who covered Gates with a rookie line backer making his first start. 3 Receptions for 26 yards. I seriously doubt that it will get any easier on the road in Jacksonville. |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread - SUPERBOWL EDITIO Post by captainpurple on Dec 19th, 2007, 10:28am OK kids....here we go! Fury of The Norsemen is in the Superbowl! Sure, there's some [smiley=money.gif] ridin' on it...but the more important thing is the trophy and the BRAGGIN' RIGHTS! [smiley=eatme.gif] Roster is at the top...note the 1pt/15return yards and the PPR. Mostly trying to decide on the QB (Brees vs. PHI or Warner vs. ATL) and the flexs. At WR/RB (I've can drop any of my WR for Sproles, who may see garbage time again in addition to his KO returns) and at WR/TE (I can play Miller or Crumpler for any of the WRs too, though I don't like the Miller/Parker overload) Gimme your thoughts! |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread - SUPERBOWL EDITIO Post by steelkings on Dec 19th, 2007, 4:13pm The QB's are even. I would worry more about Warner breaking (Mid game Injury) before Brees though. The NO/Philly game is going to be a shoot out. I'd go there. Houston will be seeing a heavy dose of Gonzolez in Indy. How long will Manning play is in Question though. Holt has a sudden hamstring injury(Tweak?) but I love him against Pittsburgh. Rain and wind is in the Sunday forecast for foxboro (Welker?)....I like Miller against the Lambs. But you know me and the Steeler love goggles :'( Sproles?...Dont be suprised if Denver leads that football game in the 2nd half. The Bronks coverage teams are solid. Fantasy bowls are not for one hit wonders. Go with your meat and potato's. Go to my bowl help thread and help me too. |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread - SUPERBOWL EDITIO Post by captainpurple on Dec 20th, 2007, 10:01am Weather.com has Foxboro 35 and very light wind (3 mph) for Sunday. So I have to go with Welker if that's the case. Plus, I'm hoping some of the "my old team" mojo gets him a big day. I like Miller too, but I'm just not sure I should pull the trigger on the Parker/Miller overload. PHI just held Dallas to 6 points...you really that sure PHI@NO is a shootout? I think I have to go with Brees because the Cards could run Edge all day and the WRs are banged up. NO is running the ball just enough to get Brees 2-3 TDs, which I'll need....my opponent has Brady, Moss and Westbrook. |

Yeah but I look at it like this. Philly had that game (Cowboys) circled on their calenders. Kind of the same way the Ravens did with the Patriots. Remember what the Ravens did the next week? I'm not saying Philly is as bad as the Ratbirds, but I think you really need incentive (other than your game check) to play really well. Where is the incentive in getting on a plane and traveling to New Orleans with zero shot at the playoffs. Eagles will mail this one in. Saints need it and will be focused. 38-24 Saints. |

From your keyboard to God's ears bra'! I'll need it. I checked weather.com again, and they're now saying 30% chance of rain, 47 and 15MPH wind. That's a bit better! I need to keep Brady and Moss down in the stratosphere to have a chance. |

Title: Re: CaptainPurple's WDIS Thread - SUPERBOWL EDITIO Post by captainpurple on Dec 21st, 2007, 9:51pm [smiley=dejected.gif] That was my exact lineup MC....and then Parker goes down with a big zero....OUCH! And Holt is kept in check....OUCH! I'm moving Roddy White (FA pickup just acquired) in for Donald Driver. I'm going to need a BIG influx. Driver won't get it for me, especially against Chicago. Hopefully White can do something against Cardinals who are last in the league in points allowed to WRs. Wish me luck! |
