The rhetoric about the rookies is already starting to roll off "The REAL Feed":

Yahoo! News: Democratic Party (09.05.2008 18:34)
Mario Manningham has given people a lot to talk about with all his off the field problems. On the field with the New York Giants for the first time Friday, the troubled third-round draft pick from Michigan showed flashes of why he might have been one of the biggest steals in the NFL draft. Manni...

Don't get too excited about him too early... he ran a route incorrectly in mini-camp and injured his hip as a result.

Rookie QB Andre Woodson also injured his quad muscle while scrambling in practice.

Neither injury is serious.

Good guy!  Being an east-coast guy (in one of my lives ;)), I used to catch him on the local news.  Quality dude!  Vis-a-vis some of the ilk Commissioner Goodell is trying to get rid of, Strahan was a player to look up to.  He will be missed, not just by the Giants, but by the league as a whole.

Best wishes to him in whatever he does!!

Can't wait to see that great big smile in broadcasting.

As an Eagles fan, I know I will not miss him!

A shockwave hits New York...  Shockey finally gone... according to "The REAL Feed":

GIANTS TRADE SHOCKEY TO SAINTS (http://www.sportinglife.com/nfl/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=international_feed/08/07/21/GRIDIRON_USA-NY_Giants_Shockey.html)
Sporting Life: NFL (21.07.2008 18:19)
The New York Giants have offloaded Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans.

Talked to my best friend (unfortunately a Giants fan) yesterday immediately after the trade was announced and he was ecstatic. He felt that Eli Manning's improvement occurred once Shockey was out of the huddle--where, he claimed, Shockey was questioning just about every play that didn't come his way. Plus he was a negative presence in the locker room and was injured too often.

I'm sure the Giants will be fine without him. It will be interesting to see how he affects the Saints offense.

Gotta agree with Jeff here (man, I have been saying that too often here). The Giants won the Superbowl without him in the lineup. To get 2 future players for a guy they don't even really need was a bonus.

USA TODAY: Sports (04.08.2008 15:43)
New York Giants halfback Ahmad Bradshaw said Monday that he will have to serve another 30 days in jail after the NFL season ...

Hopefully he's learned his lesson...
